Celebrating #525FloppyDay by trying to figure out why my custom DOS works perfectly on emulators and an Apple ][+, but on the Apple //c it can read/write, but fails to format a disk. (probably a cycle-counting issue)
Also, does anyone know what the M parameter is in this //c status dump? I'm not used to seeing that, having grown up with a ][+. #appleII

Software used to have a majestic physical quality to it. That is what boxes of floppies like this represents.

Happy 5,25" floppy disk day to those who celebrate! 🥳 May your drivehead be reliable, your disks well stored and your supply of new old stock ones never run dry. Cheers! 🙌

Can't let the day end without a rather exotic floppy creature. Hard-sectored (16 sectors) floppy! The really goofy bit is that what could be read is actually still readable (it was a standard ProDOS 16-sector disk before data blocks went bad at random)
