If you, like me, are suddenly interested in how an invasion and takeover by the USA might work… there is 100 year old document in the National Archives that gives at least a basic idea. In the context of a USA war plan against "Red” (The British Empire). Canada is “Crimson”.

Under US pressure, the rump could become a freely associated state similar to Palau, with a new constitution reordering society along American lines. In time, perhaps it too could be annexed.”
