Finally made it to the #RockAndRoll #HallOfFame. Underwhelming. It's like one good floor in the basement plus a video, garage band, the walk of fame and the gift shop.
I'm not against such places but they need proper curation. Same with award shows. It should be less about who is great but instead what's the bigger story and why do these artists, events and scenes matter. Provide multiple perspectives like a great museum does.
It's fine but you're better off with #500Songs.

So BMI and what we call popular music took off because radio needed music to play after ASCAP refused to provide the big band stuff they controlled. Damn does that sound like what we could be doing with fedi music apps and #ccmusic today. I'm going to need to talk to @andrewhickeywriter about this all eventually. #500songs
