SoCal beach city survey of new #LandCruiser versus new #4Runner shows an overwhelming majority for the Land Cruiser. Seems like the new 4Runner is a huge miss for #Toyota, replaced by the Land Cruiser at the high end and #Tacoma everywhere else.

Replaced the door seal on my 1999 Toyota 4Runner: In terms of difficulty, give it a 1 out of 10 (simple). Remove 4 screws, snap out plastic panels in the way, pull old seal, replace with aftermarket replacement seal, snap panels back in, screw the screws back in. #auto #repair #autorepair #4runner

Doesn't say anything about if it's 4x4, if it is and that was kept intact. Doesn't look like it though.

@andrewbriscoe Long-ish🧵in response to your post a few days ago. For the last few years I haven't been able to wear a pack or really carry anything. It's been rough after so many years of hiking and backpacking to not be able to be out enjoying the wilderness like that. Not saying it'll never happen again, but it's not real likely. So have had to start modifying.

Found an interesting chart of 4Runner sales over the years. Markup on these vehicles is insane right now (easily $10k-$20k over MSRP) and auto loan rates are quite high.

After getting the Moose (my #4Runner) stuck in 4H last night—I suspect the transfer case's lubricant was chilled, and insufficiently distributed—I was glad to have the functionality today, and now he's shifting cleanly between 2H & 4H.
