A week in #GlenCoe in June 1983. Very hot sunshine, we got badly sunburnt on #BideanNamBian, and it became actually painful to be out in daylight, so we then did a solstice night time ascent of #BenNevis, bivying in the summit shelter.
Next morning was the first time I realised what 270+ #Munros meant, as we could probably see most of them. Followed by an exciting descent via the #CarnMorDearg arete.

#40YearsAgo, astronauts were training to repair the Solar Max satellite in the Neutral Buoyancy Simulator at @NASAMarshall. A year later, #OTD in 1984, STS-41C launched to Solar Max, and went on to perform the first satellite retrieval and the first satellite repair in space!

Have been scanning a lot of old slides recently, the ones from 1983 will be celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, so will spam a few of them here.
January 1983, a few days at the Lairig Leacach bothy above Spean Bridge. We were snowed in for a couple of days, hence the young bored male pyromaniac tendencies. But we did do some walking.
