I was too busy being a judge, organiser and Dean at the #3MT final so didn’t manage to take any photos. We had film and photo people for that though so I’ll share when we have access to the files. It was a pretty incredible event, actually. Worth the financial stress, and loss of sleep.

I helped set up and break down before and after. I have faults but I am always happy to do stuff that needs doing. Maybe that is a fault. Maybe it’s my past life as stagehand and lighting tech in my youth…

Anyway I feel I need to sleep for a week. Not going to happen.

I scored a spectacular own goal.

In the capstone seminar I told the students to do a #3MT, a Three Minute Thesis presentation. Because that would be fun. They agreed and said I should join too. Yeah, why not.

So I spent several hours today trying to summarize my current research project - twenty years in the making - in about 240 words.

What an emotional journey! At some point I felt that what I'm doing is not expressible, or maybe I'm not doing anything, or whatever... Sure, I recovered from that, but still, it is quite a process.
