After using an ESP32-C3 Plus (with U.FL connected external antenna to FINALLY get a proper WIFI Signal \o/) I can now present my wifi based OBS scene changer \o/ https://youtu.be/xrobQSAPSkc

A little delayed gratification for LAST week's #FreeCADFriday: My rotating Labubu Holder for up to 8 Labubus (or other things you can hang). Took a while to manufacture because my printer decided to fuck off in that general direction --> with its hotend (the hotend lost screws and essentially bent) so I had to wait for replacement, but now the screw tolerances are flawless. 100.0% 3D printed!
Model can be found here:

ok, note to self: Don't print with the lid open, the filament loader gets stuck in the sharp bend of the feeder tube that way 🤦♂️ #3DJGummikuh

After bending my Rapido Hotend, I Upgraded to the Rapido 2 and so far, I like the the handle-ability of the new hotend (currently performing my first testprint). Everything below the heatbreak feels much sturdier!

Ok, I fixed the Labubu Stand now (@pbf751kj0dqc, my 3D Model has its own Fediverse handle, how cool is that? Regular URL: https://manyfold.djgummikuh.de/models/pbf751kj0dqc) and (hopefully) updated the affected files in #Manyfold
Should be safe to download now 👍

Arguably my most loved Workbench in #FreeCAD (beside PartDesign, where I spend the vast majority of my time) is the ThreadProfile Bench. You can create both External and Internal Threads with nothing but a few clicks and - given your printer is at least somewhat precise - they should fit nicely without much post-processing!

On a positive note: I thought my hotend was broken. It's definitely hurting (I bent it somewhat while trying to remove a clog, lol) but it's still printing, which is a very positive surprise to me. Already resigned to having to spend approx 100€ before I can print again for a new hotend, thankfully that doesn't seem to be the immediate case. 🥳

Quite some time for me to take part in a #FreeCADFriday but here is a Holder for up to 8 Labubus, since we couldn't be arsed to buy one for 12€ in china 🤣 (will show up later on my manyfold if anyone's interested)

Hm. Is this normal behavior? Trying to delete a file on my printer restarts it 🤔 I'm sure this is fine 👍 #3DJGummikuh

Finally going to upgrade my printer to EVA3.

I really love that you can just cancel Objects on a multi-object print in Duet <3

So if any of you is in urgent need of a rummikub stand: https://www.printables.com/model/1561577-rummikub-stand

Played Rummikub for the first time in ages with my parents yesterday and their copy of the game is presumably about as old as I am. That means that the Stands are horribly worn down. 3D printing to the rescue \o/ #3DJGummikuh

Back in Business, printing some reference parts of my Wind Turbine. Going to use the time until I'm back in office to try and model another attraction (a jets-inspired ride like the Orbitron Carousel in Disneyland Paris) that can be screwed onto the wind turbine, this time hopefully multi-color \o/

Revisiting the CAD file for my 100.0% printable Toy wind turbine. Unfortunately I moved from #LinkStage3 back to #FreeCAD (1.0.2), and now I have to go through all my bodies (23 in total) because FreeCAD does not support multi-extrude, a feature I made ample use of when designing 😢
Even worse, most of those errors are subtle, so I have to really revisit every single step I took, trying to figure out of there is a discrepancy

It's kinda fun and kinda sad at the same time: You upload a model ORIENTED CORRECTLY such that the print should result in the most smooth way possible, even write into the description which way to orient it - and both uploaded makes printed the model upside down 🤦🤦 https://www.printables.com/model/1373664-oxbergbillykallax-door-handle-for-ikea-doors/comments

This #FreeCADFriday I can present a relatively quickly thrown-together Model that allows me to rest my Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS Footpedals against the wall without hitting it while braking and also without them shifting due to the inexplicably rounded front...

Was surprised today with the high performance of my printer at high speeds, so I'm now gonna try to print Pikachu again... with 200mm/s perimeter speed and max flow of 25,2mm³/s 😅

#FreeCADFriday modelled Inlays for my spice rack to prevent all those spices from tipping over as they were only resting on two wires. The entire print took around 24h due to all the hexagons 🙈 #3DJGummikuh

So, in case anyone needs easily accessible USB stick storage, I got you covered :D

#3DJGummikuh -
Since it annoyed me that my portable storage was always flying around, I present: A holder for up to 5 USB Sticks with caps, 5 USB sticks without caps, and 4 MicroSD Cards, mountable below my monitor stand with 3,5x16 screws.

Took me way too long to get here, but I can finally have peace of mind when sending a job up there that essentially encompasses my ENTIRE Build volume, knowing that I have proper adhesion everyhwere 🥳

Die Zählung hat relativ arbiträr angefangen, als ich das eingerichtet habe, dennoch ein gehöriger Meilenstein 🤣 #3DJGummikuh #Homeassistant

Why-oh-why is the Z-Probing on my printer so unreliable? #3DJGummikuh
-
Wow. Tonight is the first time I'm firing up my 3D printer for over a month 🤯 waaaaay too much stress going on around me at the moment. #3DJGummikuh

After like half a year, my 16-color filament changer is finally finished. All 16 channels now have a buffer and are wired up, though so far I only have 10 channels loaded. My custom-built code for the tradrack on my duet printer also supports replacing run-out filaments mid print without complaint, which cuts down on waste due to "almost-empty" spools. Everything for this done by me was created in #FreeCAD 💪 #3DJGummikuh

Here you can hear the load change. On low RPM the motor squeaking is quite present, but at higher settings it settles in nicely with the overall wind noise. The thing comes with a throttle lever on some kind of a test stand. You can hear him slamming the throttle at the 33 Second mark, but the Turbine has a delayed response behavior mimicking the real thing (that thing is µC controlled if you wonder)

Built this Desk Turbine for my son some years ago and he just sent me this video. I'm still amazed at just how nice it sounds (no SFX, this is a cheap brushless Motor and wind :D)
Also, the laser-cut acryllic glass Fingerguard in front of the blades probably saved his fingers countless times 😅

Still very frustrated with the black parts of the print, but finally got around to printing the attachable crown (extended my changer by two colors before I ran out of filament for the redirector panels lol) and it looks better than I expected, given that I designed it and I UTTERLY SUCK at aesthetics 🙈 Made in #FreeCad

A nice feature I just recently discovered in #DWC:
You can cancel Objects mid-print. One of my 4 objects on the plate got knocked loose midprint, so I now cancelled it and the printer will skip all respective Moves and just continue with the three remaining object!

Had a breakthrough on my #MMU Journey today by precisely measuring distances for loading and improving the macros. All extruder clacking is now gone!
I am also in the process to do a write up for my journey including learnings and my adapted code for #RRF.
#3DJGummikuh -
Made a huge leap in my journey trying to mate my #TradRack MMU with my #Duet3D based 3D printer. Basically you can forget any code that exists for this MMU as it's all for Klipper, but my macros now essentially have the MMU fully functional, minus now making the slicer understand what to do.
