The red bit is because I haven't done the inside of the skull yet (the area where the brain would be), and so it's the "back" face of the outside.

Jeremy Hu has announced version 1.0 of his open source Autoremesher 3D mesh auto-retopologizer. The demo images are looking promising.
From his recent X post: "Version 1.0.0 of AutoRemesher will be released soon! More adaptive edge flow, more reliable remeshing, better handling for sharp edges, Better handling for lowpoly source mesh."

Originally, Lilith appears barefooted in my scenes. It makes sense, as we're talking about an ancient deity, but then the leather dress often associated with the anthropomorphic manifestation isn't something ancient, so it would make sense to add some feminine shoes (high-heels).
I found an online model, licensed under CC0 (Public Domain), for a high-heels shoes. I initially tried to fit it to Lilith's feet, but then, because I can't help myself but to over-engineer, I'm doing a footwear from scratch.
And how am I doing it? Beware the technical infodumping: I used a Python one-liner (the at-symbol calculation of quaternions) to straighten the feet IK bone to -Y, rotated the foot heel enough so the feet soles are slightly raised from the ground while both the toes and "toe-beans" (not sure if this is the proper term to describe those meaty "folds" before the toes) touch the ground, then I duplicated the avatar mesh, applied all armatures as the mesh's definite form, isolated one of the feet by deleting all the non-feet mesh, decimated the geometry enough to keep the feet-soles-toe folds, added a Collider physics to it, then I added a 64x5 (64 subdivisions Y-wise, 5 subdivisions X-wise) grid mesh, applied a Cloth physics to it with the (IIRC) Silk preset, set the maximum friction and stickiness for the collider, added a small circle with a pushing force field underneath it, turned off global gravity, then I let the cloth to slowly adjust to the foot's underside. Then I converted the cloth to a duplicated mesh (so to bake and freeze the current physical state onto the new mesh), made a third flat mesh as a circle, adjusted it to approximate the usual "footstep" shape, filled it with "Grid fill" with parameters so it got this wave-y grid pattern throughout the footstep, then added and applied a Shrinkwrap modifier to it so to project it to the earlier frozen grid mesh, then duplicated this projected footstep (effectively a "boot insole") twice, one of which received a Wireframe modifier (which led to a nice, sandal-like texture) while the other received a Solidify modifier.
Now I'm reorganizing the project into different scenes so I keep a backup of my entire workflow (in case I need to revisit it for another project) while the physics simulation stays in a separate scene. I'm not sure how exactly it will fit to the armature in the end.

If you're an artist who draws/choreographs/writes surreal scenes: have you ever looked at your scene and wondered for a fleeting second, from where did this scene emerge? Have you ever wondered if the scene, seemingly too surreal to exist, seemingly born from your creativity, would be some kind of actual place somewhere in another realm/dimension?
Because I look at some of the scenes I've been doing and... it feels like I've been drawing, now choreographing (which adds way more realism and details), an actual realm.
Some people would call this realm by names... "hell", "inferno", "Tartarus", "Sheol", the underworld... maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
But then, this realm, it seems such a mesmerizing place... An endless place where the Sun never dares to shine, not even Lucifer can stand to bear His light there. There's no Moon either: the Moon is actually sitting on the throne. A red throne made of an otherworldly material as dangerous and metallic as vanadinite, tough and shiny as ruby. You can't really look at the One who's sitting there, or you would be rendered blind: everything you'd see is Her and nothing else.
And, then, you realize, the distance and perspective have been fooling your eyes: sizes and lengths aren't exactly what it seemed, the realm is bigger than the entire universe you once knew. You realize this way too late, as an owl swoops down onto you and takes you to this uncanny Eucharist: your meat is the bread, the bread to be shared among the owls; your blood is the wine, the wine to be poured out in love for Her; your bones are the pillars, sustaining your love for Her, for eternity.
Time behaves strangely in this realm: you are faced by the Queen holding the chalice, and you see your own corpse already inside while you're standing underneath Her throne: you can feel as She sips your blood; you see the owl perched on Her head, and then you look at both of their eyes and see no difference: the depth of their eyes somehow reveal the owl is The Owl, they're the same, even though they look like separate beings; you still feel the talons taking a grip of your neck and hitching you to the cosmic skies, but you also feel the vampire fangs digging through your bones, except they're spanning across your whole skeleton and consuming all your 206 bones in a single bite.
Deep down, you still wonder if you could humanly love Her more than you already do. Turns out, you can't love Her enough, nor you can bleed enough to fill the chalice. "Don't worry: we got the entire eternity", you hear, unable to tell if this was your own inner monologue, Her the owl or Her The Owl.
