  1. RE: social.treehouse.systems/@bodi

the #Omarchy launderbros and capitalist circle-jerkers:

    #1Password
    #37Signals
    #Block
    #Cloudflare
    #Coinbase
    #Dell
    #OpenClaw
    #Sesame
    #Shopify
    #Stripe
    #TapTap

since they’re nvidious of Huang’s big VC incest fundarama, they’re cosplaying the Habsburgs with one of their jerkerbro bash files

capitalists, they're definitely not like us.

  2. In today's episode of "Who Cares Weekly," #1Password and #37signals are now "Distinguished Corporate Patrons"—an accolade that sounds like a glorified participation trophy for companies. 🎖🤣 Meanwhile, the rest of us are just trying to remember our #passwords without a Post-it note. 🗒️🔐

  3. TIL Duke University Libraries stopped using #37signals products in 2023.

"We came to this decision after weighing the level of its use in our organization, which is considerable, against the harms that we see perpetuated by the leadership of Basecamp’s parent company, 37signals."

    - Michael Dell, Chairman and CEO of #Dell Technologies
    - Jack Dorsey, Block Head and Chairman of Block

Sucks that so many use Stripe or Shopify at least.

  5. 🎉✨ Breaking news: the "37signals Manager Playbook" is finally here to teach you how to manage people as if you're living in the early 2000s! 🔥📚 Equipped with cryptic wisdom only accessible through a browser that doesn't resemble a fossil, it's a must-read for those desperately seeking to align their outdated management skills with the ethos of a bygone tech era. 🚀😂

  6. 🌳 Recursive entries via parent_id — enabling nested hierarchies like threaded comments, email topics with messages & private notes
📝 Immutability: create new versions instead of updating — Entry is a pointer to current state with full edit history

    🛠️ Battle-tested at #37signals in #Basecamp, #HEY & #Writebook — combined with STI & polymorphic relations for max flexibility
📊 Relational DB as graph: thin models, rich hierarchies & full history — no Event Sourcing needed

  7. #Upright - #OpenSource Synthetic #Monitoring System by #37signals #rails #monitoring #sre #devops

🔍 Monitor your services from multiple global locations with real browser checks, HTTP probes, SMTP & traceroute monitoring

🎭 #Playwright browser probes run real user flows, capture video recordings & logs on failure for end-to-end verification

    🌐 Multi-site deployment via #Kamal to cheap VPS nodes (#DigitalOcean, #Hetzner) - full setup from ~$20/mo

  8. Did 37Signals Just Accidentally Make Writebook Open Source?

When 37Signals launched Writebook in 2024, it was under their ONCE License Agreement. Notably, that license "does not include the rights to publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, source code or products derived from it." […]

  9. Just learned that #37signals launched a new service: Fizzy, a fresh take on kanban boards. Looks interesting, and it’s open source with a license that lets you self-host.

  10. launched a new service called . Think kanban without being slow. 😎

It's kind of neat. And you can self host easily enough. With it being source available. I would've liked usage here, but at least they provided something. 😅

  11. Whether you like DHH (David Heinemeier Hansson) or not, he has gone full Nazi.

If you don't believe it, just read his latest blog post (in which he reminisces about a London that didn't have today's number of immigrants and is hardly white anymore—ironic to read that from a Dane who immigrated to the USA, but he's white, of course—and sympathizes with the British neo-nazi scene, even glorifies the British nazis and some asshole who literally called for punching trans women "in the balls" if they enter the ladies' bathroom, but disagrees with the saying "punch a nazi" as he laments that words all too quickly become actions).

Or his blog post from one day before, where he downplayed and defended Charlie Kirk who thought that black people are inferior to white people, among many other vile disgusting things, and whose vocation literally was to go on college campuses and indoctrinate young people with hate.

    Or …

I hope you see the pattern.

  14. #Cloud klaut Geld.

  15. Here’s a second demo of some of the features in the forthcoming Fizzy issue tracking app from 37 Signals. See Jason Fried’s posts feed on LinkedIn for the first general overview video. #Fizzy #37Signals linkedin.com/posts/jason-fried

  16. 🚀🤡 #37signals bravely bids farewell to #AWS, convinced that a $10M "saving" is worth the headache of migrating 18 petabytes. Meanwhile, David Heinemeier Hansson dreams of a #self-hosted #utopia as AWS chuckles and waves goodbye. 💰👋

  17. The new issue tracking app from 37 Signales looks interesting. It mirrors their keep it simple philosophy thats used (and I like!) in Basecamp and HEY email.

  18. 37signals 的雲端搬遷計畫的最後一段:Amazon S3

在 Hacker News 上看到的:「It's five grand a day to miss our S3 exit (world.hey.com)」,原文是 DHH 寫的,在「It's five grand a day to miss our S3 exit」這邊,關於 37signals 搬出雲端 (AWS) 的最後一個階段的部分。 Amazon S3 的部分簽了四年的合約拿 discount,換算後是 $1.5m/yr,所以應該是 $6m/4yrs,合約在今年月六月底到期: We're spending just shy of $1.5 million/year on AWS S3 at the moment to host files for Basecamp, HEY, and ev…
