#Day256 of #365HappyDays : a visit from The Boy and his parents, lunch at #Wagamama and then a couple of hours of #SoftPlay that got my heart pumping harder than any of my walks this past week.
“Grandma, come with me!” he said, offering me his hand as he approached the climbing wall. And up we went, dicky ticker be damned. Because this is my boy, and I’d do anything for him.

I’ve had a wonderful few days in The Lakes, but it’s always lovely to be #home again. Particularly as #PastMe had the fantastic #MumPlan to clean the house properly before leaving. #win

#Day251 of #365HappyDays : I’ve had to walk a mile in the rain and the dark to get phone signal to post this, but this is home for the week and I couldn’t be happier.
To add: Hearing a toddler swear will never not be funny. We’ve all seen the “It’s a fucking goat” video, right?
I neither condone nor encourage it, but it’s still funny AF.
Also, it’s especially funny as I KNOW for certain that he hasn’t picked this up from me. This is pure dad’s doing. Whilst I do swear, and often, I am super careful with words around him, and “Oh goodness” is now a staple in my speech instead of swears.

1. Learning that this guy - photo - apart from saying “Cheese!” to the camera, has apparently learned a new phrase, used entirely in context. Wanted to watched Sing on #Netflix, Netflix was logged out, he responded “For fuck’s sake.” I should be horrified, but laughed long and hard.
2. Packed and loaded the car #today ahead of trip tomorrow.
3. Spent the evening catching up with Hannah & Mick. It’s been way too long.
#Day249 of #365HappyDays : finding this guy, Benedict, who has been AWOL since Thursday. I was beginning to worry, until I received a text from my neighbour #today reading “Just to let you know, Ben is locked in your shed shouting at us in our garden.”
And he was.
They’d heard him over the fence.

The baby for whom I finished the blanket on #day244 arrived safely this afternoon. His parents have had an incredibly difficult 18 months, and he carries his brother’s name as a middle one, which, I’ll be honest, made my eyes leak a little.

#Day245 of #365HappyDays : I’m still exhausted following my medical episode on Friday, but my happy today again comes from The Boy. Tuesdays are my favourite day because of him and #today was no exception.
This was him at breakfast, demolishing his pancakes and blueberries.

My #photo for today is of a #blanket I started ages ago, then put down, and hurriedly picked up again a few days ago when I realised the baby it’s for is due this week.

What a difference 24hrs make.
This time yesterday it was a very, very different picture.
HR 205 for two and a half hours and attached to a defib for longer is not how I prefer to spend my Friday night.
Very slow day today. Exhausted. But my reason to be #happy is absolutely ❤️ 69 BPM.
I work for the #NHS but don’t often have call to use it. #Tonight was a little different.
It involved three blue light transfers and several hours in #Resus.
I have never ever received such a timely and responsive service before, but when I needed it, it was there.
#Today is #Day241 of #365HappyDays and whilst my medical emergency is no reason to be #happy, the care and treatment I received most certainly is. I’m extraordinarily #grateful.

#Day240 of #365HappyDays : it’s not just the food (which tasted way better than it looks by the way) but the empty room and the few moments of #solitude and #peace during my break at work #today.
We share our station with #Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service (#FARS) and when they get a shout, they have to drop everything and leave. This morning they got a shout to “small animal rescue”, so as soon as they left, one of the #Police Sergeants leapt into action.
#Day239 of #365HappyDays is discovering that my Morale Boosting #Ducks are still doing their job.
Honestly, this is #inspired. I can only imagine their reactions when they get back to their half-cooked and abandoned #breakfast.

These are knitted. I don’t do #knitting because my right hand won’t hold a needle. I’m very very much a #lefty. My right hand is essentially just for show and balance.
#Day232 of #365HappyDays : recommended by a podcast, I’m thoroughly enjoying this at the moment. Time will tell if I stick with it. My #MentalHealth has been a bit wobbly this past weeks or so, and my concentration is usually one of the first things to go. For now though, it’s a win.
#Day231 of #365HappyDays : this child brings me so much joy, I can’t even explain it. A trip to #GlebeFarm to see the animals this morning and a #HotChocolate for The Boy to warm up afterwards.
When I was small, my #grandma used to tell me I was the apple of her eye, and I never really understood what that meant until now. He is the apple of mine, for sure. 🩵
Earlier #today than usual because I’ve been off work and somewhat productive, #Day230 of #365HappyDays is a photo of the #TentBox with my newly installed ventilation mat, fitted sheet and thermal lining.
I genuinely didn’t realise how cold it was outside when I was inside it fitting it to the bars! I am especially happy with the extra zips that mean I can still open the windows and skylight if I want to.

#Day228 of #365HappyDays : it seems like so long ago now, but this was the view from the training room in Block 9 at #StaffsPolice HQ this afternoon. I delivered training to a group of call takers from the Control Room, caught up with some people I haven’t seen in far too long, and the training was really well received.
I got a lovely email from one of the participants tonight that made me realise this super long day was well worth it.
Some days are more difficult than others when all I’ve literally done is sleep and work. I did receive a delivery today though, so my #Day227 of #365HappyDays goes to #TentBox and the accessories I’ve purchased to improve my #winter #camping experience later this month.

I hung it up in work tonight and now when people ask how I am, I just raise my arm and point at it. 🙂

I spent some time during my last shift placing 50 rubber #ducks around the station. Hidden in plain sight, or in pockets, mugs, coffee jars, fridges, key safes, lockers… everywhere I could think of.
I then took two days off. #Tonight I returned to work and discovered, as I’d hoped, the morale boosting ducks had done their job.
They’re the talk of the nick, making people smile and wonder and laugh. They’re my reason to be happy #today.

“This is a gift. But what’s inside is just a token. I couldn’t possibly buy you something that reflects how very much you mean to me, and to us, and how grateful I am to have you with us and helping us every day. So the thing inside, it’s just something but it’s... It’s from me and I just couldn’t get you nothing.”

I’ve had to take a couple of days break from #365HappyDays this week, due to sickness and misery and not leaving the house. Tonight I’ve dragged myself into work because I was sick of the same four walls and lack of human interaction, and people keep coming up to me and giving me gifts!
Unexpected kindness from partner colleagues is my reason to be happy #today. (Ignoring the break and carrying on where I left off, today is #Day214.)

#Day203 of #365HappyDays : an unexpected guest in work tonight. We think his name is Kenny. Sad reason for him making a guest appearance tonight, but he certainly made lots of people smile. We think he’s a Lab / Staffy cross. He’s definitely a Good Boy.
One of the lads in work, Connor, saw me #crocheting a blanket in work last week when it was snowing. Connor is a nice kid, and somewhat lacking in the hair department. He asked me if I would please #crochet him a hat for work. So #day202 of #365HappyDays belongs to his new hat, competed tonight. It’s a mix of cashmere and merino wool, so should keep his smooth pate nice and warm. 🙂

His mane is coming in now. He’s turning into quite the handsome #cat.
#Day196 of #365HappyDays : #today I’m happy with my little new car. I’ve had it for two months and although I purposely bought an AWD vehicle for these conditions, I didn’t know how it would actually perform when it needed to.
It dealt well with the #UKsnow and got me easily up the series of proper hills that lead to my house.

#Day192 of #365HappyDays : I picked The Boy up this morning, brought him home, and he immediately went into the living room, over to his #bookshelf, and then clambered onto this chair and I took this #photo.
I love that he loves #books. I hope he never ever grows out of it.

Usually Perrie can’t get anywhere near Ben because Kevin is joined to his hip, so she made the most of his absence and grabbed a cuddle while she could.

Of course, I can’t really show them on an iPhone photo, so instead I’m choosing as my reason to be #happy #today a photo of another #handmade pram blanket, completed tonight for a baby due next month.
This one is really simple, half double #crochet all the way, using #ThickAndQuick yarn from #LionBrand. The name is spot on.

#Day173 of #365HappyDays : I finished the #blanket I was making on #Day170, and started another today. This is waffle stitch, a new one for me, but I like it. This is for *another* pregnant colleague, I’m beginning to think there’s something in the water at work!
#Day167 of #365HappyDays : I had to park in the compound tonight thanks to a broken gate at the station, so had to leave work and cross a dual carriageway in the dark at 0215hrs on my own and then down a quiet road to the entrance.
With the threats to kill case still ongoing and the person still on bail, I was twitchy about this. I needn’t have been. Elias, one of the PCs, couldn’t get up quick enough to escort me to my car. Supportive colleagues make me happy.

I finished work at 0350, and with the time change that’s really 0450. This means tonight’s ten hour shift turned into 13 - lone working and I didn’t get a break.
My work diary showed I worked to 138% capacity this shift, so forgive me if I skip my #365HappyDays post for #today. I’m tired and it’s hard to find one right now.
