#Day251 of #365HappyDays : I’ve had to walk a mile in the rain and the dark to get phone signal to post this, but this is home for the week and I couldn’t be happier.

To add: Hearing a toddler swear will never not be funny. We’ve all seen the “It’s a fucking goat” video, right?
I neither condone nor encourage it, but it’s still funny AF.
Also, it’s especially funny as I KNOW for certain that he hasn’t picked this up from me. This is pure dad’s doing. Whilst I do swear, and often, I am super careful with words around him, and “Oh goodness” is now a staple in my speech instead of swears.

1. Learning that this guy - photo - apart from saying “Cheese!” to the camera, has apparently learned a new phrase, used entirely in context. Wanted to watched Sing on #Netflix, Netflix was logged out, he responded “For fuck’s sake.” I should be horrified, but laughed long and hard.
2. Packed and loaded the car #today ahead of trip tomorrow.
3. Spent the evening catching up with Hannah & Mick. It’s been way too long.

#Day249 of #365HappyDays : finding this guy, Benedict, who has been AWOL since Thursday. I was beginning to worry, until I received a text from my neighbour #today reading “Just to let you know, Ben is locked in your shed shouting at us in our garden.”
And he was.
They’d heard him over the fence.

#Day244 of #365HappyDays : Two thirds of the way done now. #Today is 66.87% of 365 days. We’re getting there.
My #photo for today is of a #blanket I started ages ago, then put down, and hurriedly picked up again a few days ago when I realised the baby it’s for is due this week.
This is waffle stitch, with a simple SC border. Finished and ready for baby’s arrival.

Unsure how to capture that in one photo, I sat down, was quiet, exhaled, and drew this.
Inspired 100% by @valhund’s #MorningRoutine. Thank you, @valhund, I enjoy seeing yours and have never attempted this before. It isn’t a patch on your #art of course, but this is my first and I kinda like it. 🙂

#Day242 of #365HappyDays : sinus rhythm, HR 69, no AF.
What a difference 24hrs make.
This time yesterday it was a very, very different picture.HR 205 for two and a half hours and attached to a defib for longer is not how I prefer to spend my Friday night.
Very slow day today. Exhausted. But my reason to be #happy is absolutely ❤️ 69 BPM.

I work for the #NHS but don’t often have call to use it. #Tonight was a little different.
It involved three blue light transfers and several hours in #Resus.
I have never ever received such a timely and responsive service before, but when I needed it, it was there.
#Today is #Day241 of #365HappyDays and whilst my medical emergency is no reason to be #happy, the care and treatment I received most certainly is. I’m extraordinarily #grateful.
Don’t let the Tories destroy it. Please. #GTTO

We share our station with #Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service (#FARS) and when they get a shout, they have to drop everything and leave. This morning they got a shout to “small animal rescue”, so as soon as they left, one of the #Police Sergeants leapt into action.
#Day239 of #365HappyDays is discovering that my Morale Boosting #Ducks are still doing their job.
Honestly, this is #inspired. I can only imagine their reactions when they get back to their half-cooked and abandoned #breakfast.

#Day222 of #365HappyDays : it’s all about the ducks.
I spent some time during my last shift placing 50 rubber #ducks around the station. Hidden in plain sight, or in pockets, mugs, coffee jars, fridges, key safes, lockers… everywhere I could think of.
I then took two days off. #Tonight I returned to work and discovered, as I’d hoped, the morale boosting ducks had done their job.
They’re the talk of the nick, making people smile and wonder and laugh. They’re my reason to be happy #today.

#Day215 of #365HappyDays : my favourite gift this Christmas. I don’t know what’s inside the bag, and I’m in no hurry to find out. He gave it to me saying:
“This is a gift. But what’s inside is just a token. I couldn’t possibly buy you something that reflects how very much you mean to me, and to us, and how grateful I am to have you with us and helping us every day. So the thing inside, it’s just something but it’s... It’s from me and I just couldn’t get you nothing.”

I’ve had to take a couple of days break from #365HappyDays this week, due to sickness and misery and not leaving the house. Tonight I’ve dragged myself into work because I was sick of the same four walls and lack of human interaction, and people keep coming up to me and giving me gifts!
Unexpected kindness from partner colleagues is my reason to be happy #today. (Ignoring the break and carrying on where I left off, today is #Day214.)

#Day203 of #365HappyDays : an unexpected guest in work tonight. We think his name is Kenny. Sad reason for him making a guest appearance tonight, but he certainly made lots of people smile. We think he’s a Lab / Staffy cross. He’s definitely a Good Boy.

One of the lads in work, Connor, saw me #crocheting a blanket in work last week when it was snowing. Connor is a nice kid, and somewhat lacking in the hair department. He asked me if I would please #crochet him a hat for work. So #day202 of #365HappyDays belongs to his new hat, competed tonight. It’s a mix of cashmere and merino wool, so should keep his smooth pate nice and warm. 🙂
