  7. Bumped into the legendary @Comixace outside of a New York City comic book convention the other month. This is why I try to always carry a film camera with me.

  8. Damn I love Tri-X.

I've loved it since high school and did all kinds of tests a couple of years ago of a bunch of other stocks and came back to Tri-X as the one I love the most. I still keep goofing around with other stocks, but I need to remember that I'm really just looking for Tri-X every time.

  9. Got interviewed by Jose Suarez for an NYC DOE comics thing (stay tuned!)... then surprised him by pulling out my own camera, and he graciously let me take his picture.

  10. The great @davidho in NYC.

Accidentally underdeveloped these negatives by a LOT by using a 1:127 instead of a 1:31 solution of Legacy Pro L110. But Tri-X is a forgiving stock, thankfully!

    Nikkormat EL, Nikkor-H 50mm f2, Kodak Tri-X 400.

  12. First roll of film through a ridiculously cheap Nikkormat FTn with a Nikon Nikkor 50mm f1.2 I nabbed recently. The FTn is great - reminds me of my Canon FTb in build and features. The shutter speed dial around the lens will take some getting used to, though. Fuji Superia X-tra 400.

  13. Saw a Fujifilm TX-1 at B&H Photo today. My most fervent dream camera, thanks to the gorgeous, gorgeous photos @elengale has been posting.

    Only... $4999. Whew!

The TX-1 produces stunning, panoramic 24x65mm images on 35mm film. If you ever see me with this beast, you'll know I either experienced a massive windfall or obtained a mysterious benefactor.

    A boy can dream!

  14. Papaya Dog.

    Sears 35rf, 40mm f2.8, Kodak Ultramax 400.

I like taking pictures of storefronts like this because you never know when one day they'll be gone, touch wood. The most mundane images can become intensely precious after a few years.

  16. Every once in a while I score a genuine used camera bargain. Yes, that's a Nikon Nikkor-S 55mm f1.2. And the camera seems fully functional. Pretty nifty!

Assuming a few test rolls come out nicely, I'm thinking this'll be my go-to body for shooting with old non-AI Nikon lenses. So I'm gonna put my quest for a Nikon F or F2 on the back burner for now. Calm down while I'm ahead here!

  17. Another water tower. Because water towers are gorgeous.

Nikon FM2n, Nikon Nikkor 105mm f2.5 AI, Kodak Ultramax 400.

  18. I love NYC so much it almost hurts. Those textures, the history in those fading painted signs, the silhouettes of the rooftops and water towers. Damn. #BelieveInFilm #35mmLoveLetter #WaterTowerWednesday

    Nikon FM2n, Nikon Nikkor 105mm f2.5, Kodak Ultramax 400.
