  1. “If I hold you any closer, I'll be in back of you.” - Groucho Marx as Hugo Z. Hackenbush

Hot coffee and a Marx Brothers film on Turner Classic Movies; there’s definitely worse ways to start a Saturday.

  2. I have it on DVD but it’s one of those flicks I watch when it’s on Turner Classic Movies; one of the first films about readjusting to civilian life after time in a combat zone is also something I can relate to.

  3. Karl Malden never gets enough credit for his role as Omar Bradley in this. Maybe no one could take their eyes off George C. Scott.

“We're under a lot of pressure, you know, and you put us there. Nothing's riding on this except the, uh, first amendment to the Constitution, freedom of the press, and maybe the future of the country. Not that any of that matters, but if you guys fuck up again, I'm going to get mad. Goodnight.” - Jason Robards as Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee in “All The President’s Men,” 1976

  13. It’s been many years since I’ve seen this one. And how could a person not like the Hans Zimmer soundtrack?

  15. Once upon a time, as a sophomore in high school, I was in a drama club production of “My Fair Lady.” I’m finding it difficult to not sing along.

Higgins, at a time like this, it's positively indecent that you don't need a glass of port. - Wilfred Hyde-White as Col. Pickering in “My Fair Lady,” 1964

  16. “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” Has to be one of the coolest names for a movie which just happens to be pretty cool, too.

  17. Definitely an all-time favorite for me; Rod Steiger and Sidney Poitier were fantastic.

Tibbs: Now listen, hear me good mama. Please. Don't make me have to send you to jail … there’s white time in jail and there's colored time in jail. The worst kind of time you can do is colored time. - Sidney Poitier as Philadelphia police detective Virgil Tibbs in “In The Heat Of The Night,” 1967

Also, I’ll be posting genre separated lists of the #31DaysOfOscar marathon by the end of the week so keep an eye out for that #NoirAlley fans! I’ll see y’all later for some Liz & Paul Newman, #TCMParty. Enjoy your Sunday for me💕

  21. And just a head’s up this year’s #31DaysOfOscar is starting on February 9th so there’s not much #SilentFilm on the February schedule. I’m currently hard at work on genre separated lists for fans of Noir, Musicals, Westerns, Comedies, Documentaries, Imports, Pre-Code and TCM Underground films for the “31 Days..” marathon

  22. I know Bette hooked up with him IRL and he seemed to had an interesting life before his acting career but George Brent is just so… bland on screen. Just a pair of khaki pants that accidentally got turned into a human man

  23. Tonight in 1987 — #RalphBellamy was presented w/ an Honorary Oscar at the 59th #AcademyAwards.
