Inspired by a real conversation this morning about how great British electrics are #bs1363 #240v

I also like the idea of putting a #240V receptacle in the kitchen. You already have the circuit(s) for the stove/oven.

But I think this feeble-toaster phenomenon may be at least partly due to modern toasters being plastic-bodied. Too much power and the cheap plastic they use won't stand up, and they don't want to use pricier PC or whatever.
