#Tempo30 wirkt! Das zeigt zuletzt die italienische Stadt #Bologna: Dort gilt seit dem 15. Januar 2024 auf den meisten Straßen Tempo 30. Das Resümee nach einem Jahr:

👉 Die Zahl der Verkehrstoten halbierte sich sich im Vergleich zu den beiden Vorjahren
👉 Die Zahl der Schwerverletzten sank im Vergleich zu 2023 um 31%
👉 Zum ersten Mal seit 1991 kam kein:e Fußgänger:in im Straßenverkehr ums Leben

Diese Zahlen heben sich vom allgemeinen aktuellen Trend in Italien ab: Im gesamten Land steigt die Zahl der Unfälle, Verletzten und Verkehrstoten im Vergleich zum Vorjahr an, insbesondere auf den städtischen Straßen.

Neben der Einführung #Tempo30 hat Bologna auch Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum durchgeführt, z.B. Straßen, Kreuzungen und Übergänge sicherer gemacht, neue Fußgänger- und Schulzonen geschaffen und die Rad- und Fußverkehrsinfrastruktur ausgebaut.

Another great little article from the UK's ETA Trust.
The trust is the charitable arm of the Environmental Transport Association (ETA). The ETA sells motor vehicle breakdown cover. But unlike AA, RAC or Green Flag they do not fund lobbyists pushing for bigger roads etc, and instead the Trust advocates for pedestrians, cyclists and other responsible road-users.
