#GrindayFriday this week is 'Empathy Lost', the excellent new second LP from Gothenburg, Sweden's BRAINWASHER. This came out December 2025, and it's a damn great riffy, grindy record. Kinda classic Napalm or Terrorizer feel in spots.

This is some crushing, heavy, dynamic OSDM inspired death/doom metal as those Swedes really know how to make-- fast in spots, chuggy in others. GREAT textures.

Last week, @HailsandAles mentioned the new Filth on his blog here: https://www.hailsandales.club/my-favourite-releases-of-the-week-18072025. He described it as cavernous, lumbering-- accurate.

Big contender this year.

Amazing one for #MusicWomenWednesday. Japanese-Canadian singer/songwriter Saya Gray put out her magical debut album 'Saya' last Friday. Folk, alt-pop + rock sensibilities, synthy electronica & heavier guitar sometimes too. Saya's voice and finger picking- wow. 🤯 Unique melodies and sounds. A contender.
