  2. #2024GE #generalelection2024 Britain votes to change to small c conservatism over comedy C conservatism because the far right split the Tory vote.

  3. It has come to my attention that there is a #GE2024 hashtag and a #2024GE. For the avoidance of doubt, I'll be using the former to tag my posts, but I sure do wish there was an ao3 style manual linking of differently-named-but-identical-tags behind the scenes.

  4. @Sadderp

Fascist farage is also going to run for Reform Party - which will pull more votes from the tories.

Wouldn't be surprised if Sunak quits before the election

62% of all ethnic miniority MPs in the current parliament sit for #labour

Of candidates vying to be new MPs in #2024GE replacing retiring sitting #labour members, half are from ethnic minority backgrounds

Certain amount of smoke-blowing going on here I think....

  6. @adrianfry @Wen

You might wish otherwise, but expect the #snp to lose some seats in #2024GE

I doubt it will be a bad as this poll indicates - #snp probably remain largest party in Scotland - but they will lose several seats & cannot claim to represent a majority

IMO they only have themselves to blame

  7. @TheVinylConstituency

I have heard several people suggesting #sunak is so fed up with being Prime Miniature leading the rebellious ragtag of populist numbskulls that constitute the current Conservative Party, that he is going early and sabotaging his own campaign to ensure he takes as many of them down with him as possible before sodding off to hobnob with the Californian Techbro elite

  8. Conservative MP Sir John #Redwood is standing down at #2024GE

Another of Major's "bastards" bites the dust...... 10 years too late to save us from the self-inflicted injury that was #brexit

#libDem is the best vote in #Wokingham to ensure another gammon plank does not take his place

  9. @raghnallborders @SNP

You illustrate my point - you know fine well Labour are not proto-fascists, but you & your ilk spread such nonsense. Labour people do not spread vitriol about the #snp

Fortunately, most Scots are more sensible than to take your word for it - the #snp will get a pasting in #2024GE - and deserve to!

    @rhys

I suspect #toriesOut have actualy given up on #2024GE - what they are trying to do is retain their core vote, fighting off #reformUK by being as right-wing on #cultureWar nonsense (whilst missing out the spending of money on poor working class areas)

They are actually paying more attention to each other than #labour - for the other half of their battle is for who leads them in which direction as they embark on a long trek thru the wilderness of opposition

  12. @30yrdscreamer

I think you got that the wrong way round..... her electors voted Tory & now have a "Labour" MP......

Just for a few months.... she'll be out at #2024GE - there is no way she gets a gig as Labour candidate - surely! This Mike Tapp would likely have her knee-caps!

  13. @Captain_Jack_Sparrow

Yep - second that on the #green result - so far increasing council representation by 69% in the contested wards - #labour is a mere 20% up

By "effective" of course I meant in terms of the electoral result in the next election viewed thru Tory eyes - any #toriesOut success under any leader in #2024GE would of course be a further disaster for the UK on top of 14 years of accumulated damage

  14. @ukelections

Good omen for the #2024GE - where the W Midlands goes, goes the country

  15. @TJ1001

    Its not all bad!

#labour are more or less bound to win #2024GE - I can say that since I am not a member

Their team might be led by a white male with little in the way of charisma - but it is full of strong & determined women - more than any past govt Labour or Tory

The Tories will be in total meltdown after losing (so no change there). They will have done well if they sort themselves out to be competitive in 2029GE...

  16. @TJ1001

And terrified they might be outflanked on their Right by #ReformUK, who have been eating their lunch - for if that happens they can kiss goodbye to forming a single party govt ever again

Ironically, what they are doing is reinforcing the impression that single party govt is a bad thing - and at the same time making #labour more likely to dominate even more than they are going to post
    #2024GE

Ground already poisoned in so many policy areas - housing, trade, environment

  17. #toriesOut MP & ex-minister #Poulter defects to #Labour

Can Starmer & co not throw this one back?

I do trust Kevin Craig wil remain the Labour candidate for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich & Dr Dan Poulter resumes work in health full time following #2024GE - he clearly makes bad choices in politics

    bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-689

  18. @GeofCox

Agreed - plus of course the Doomday scenario for Tories is if #ReformUK draws ahead of them in the polls - in fact were any constituencies - even where they have no chance of winning the seat - to have Reform get more votes in #2024GE that would mark a further stage in the disintegration of their party that started way back during Maastricht debates, carried on via selection of IDS as leader into the car-crash that was 2016 Ref & of course rise of Johnson who kicked many sane MPs out

  19. @markmason

This is all posturing - he already knows the next election is lost all he is trying to do is slow the flight of the nativist right to #reformUK

His aim - to win more votes than the party owned by the #frogEyedGrifter in #2024GE

That is no longer nailed on, as more Tory insanity and the damage it has inflicted gets ever clearer

  20. @radiojammor @Wen

It is unsafe to pick out two individual polls at different times and project trend from them ...... what we can say - with a fair egree of certainty - is : -

    - there is little separating #snp & #labour for #2024GE in #polling in #scotlan
    - there are indications the trend toward labour has levelled off with the 2 parties neck & neck
    - there is no sign of an #snp revival
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_

  21. @ukelections

    Oh dear!

Latest #polling in #scotland puts #labour ahead of the #snp in support for #2024GE for the first time in the last ten years!

No wonder SNP folk reserve their vitriol for Labour rather than attack the #toriesOut ! It seems they are not convincing their fellow Scots much....

  22. @markhburton

What was signiicant in that election is that the local independent candidate David #tully came a strong second to the self-promoting cat - shame he did not win

I expect normal service to be resumed at #2024GE and #rochdale to return to #labour represented by a clean candidate

  23. @robriley @GeriatricGardener @Karenawokekaren

    Galloway is a charlatan - a showboater

It matters little on a national level who is elected - a few months with a temp MP until the #2024GE when a #labour MP will be elected - this time without the baggage that has rightly sunk Mr Ali

  24. @greeneralia

Well there is one obvious "tall poppy" in the Commons

I doubt I would be alone in raising a huge cheer were #reesMogg to be removed at the #2024GE

  25. Great results in #wellingborough and #Kingswood for #labour

The former the second biggest swing from #toriesOut to Labour in any post-war election

The latter bodes well for prospects of a #portillo moment for #reesMogg - part of Kingswood moves into the seat he currently represents - we can but hope!

Rather gives the lie to recent events having a significant adverse impact on prospects for the #2024GE

#starmer will be strolling into Downing St this year!

    It's been so long!

  26. @TJ1001

I dunno - I am simply amazed that Fareham elects this MP - I used to live near there (not actually in the constituency) and it did not strike me as that neanderthal a place... goes to show how wrong I can be, but if there is a place I could wish to serve a #portillo moment at #2024GE.....
