Got my Phlegmesis tapes in from Iron Fortress! They were on sale and I couldn't resist. 'The New Wave of Rotten Fornication' was of course one of my top 20 albums of 2024, and even the Phlegmesis LEFTOVERS are sick.

Wrote about this a while back, and it just arrived. This is the violet vinyl of one of my favorite LPs of 2024 (and my all time favorite dungeon synth record), Warlock Corpse's 'Bloody Tears of the Desert'. So damn beautiful!
There were only 200 of these made, and there's still some available here: https://www.outofseasonlabel.com/products/warlock-corpse-bloody-tears-of-the-desert-vinyl-lp-w-insert-2-color-options-lim-300-%D1%82%D1%80%D1%83%D0%BF-%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B4%D1%83%D0%BD%D0%B0

Well, I think this is most/all of them now.
LPs from 2024 I really dig that I unfortunately didn't hear before making my 'favorite albums of 2024' list:
Glass Spells - Crystals
Krash - Nothing is Sacred
Psychic Graveyard - Wilting
The Green Child - Look Familiar
True Green - My Lost Decade
Wild Pink - Dulling the Horns
Attack from the Tub - Meat Candy
Ovenhead - Altar of Flesh

So, I talk to the dude from Bluff City Vice (the singer from my #1 favorite record of last year, S2PID) sometimes and the other day he mentioned his favorite album of 2024, which was this-- True Green's 'My Lost Decade'. The dude from BCV knew Dan Hornsby when Dan was in Memphis, but now Dan does True Green out of Indiana.
Too late for consideration for my list, but this record is WILD. Kinda indie folk-punik lo-fi stuff, I hear some Dylan and some other things. Check out the lyrics-- track 3 especially, if you're not hooked by then, well, I don't know what to tell ya.
Dan's wife sings on this, too, you'll hear it. REALLY cool, killer record.

i know we're way past spotify wrapped season but i have to shout-out @lastfm graphic design/ux on their #2024review product -- super slick and full of more genuinely interesting nuggets than anything i've seen from spotify/apple/amazon/tidal
G-Nitro's 50 Favorite Albums of 2024
Here are my 50 favorite albums from 2024.
I saw a lot of others talking about doing a list of 50 albums, so I decided why not. I utilized Songlink embeds to help folks find the platform of their choice to listen to the albums.
I also included a Spotify Playlist embed with all the albums in one place.

Wow, huge thanks to @jinscho for alerting me to Wild Pink, some great songwriting here- 'Dulling the Horns' is yet another awesome record from 2024. Kinda Dylan, kinda Petty, also has some Gin Blossoms, Weezer or Lemonheads vibes. Catchy rootsy guitarry rock stuff.

Amazingly, here's another one I almost missed this year-- another that might've made my favorite 20 albums of 2024 if I'd caught it earlier. This is a KILLER synthpop record along the lines of Ladytron, etc.
GLASS SPELLS are a duo from California and singer Tania Costello even almost has a Stevie Nicks or 80s kind of vibe to her vocals sometimes. Love this new LP 'Crystals' of theirs from earlier this year, and it's perfect for the final #MusicWomenWednesday of 2024.

I found a record that should've been on my favorite 20 albums of 2024 list and wasn't. Apparently it happens every year. 😂 Last year was Burial Chamber. This year, it's Psychic Graveyard. Gotta thank @irafcummings for tipping me off to this one. Psychic Graveyard's record 'Wilting' from this year is KILLER. This is some great catchy, strange noise rock. I hear Butthole Surfers, Sonic Youth, Pixies and Sebadoh in it. Very much enjoying this right now.

Not making my favorites of 2024 list but something pretty cool the shoegaze kids (@skullvalanche, @starshaped etc) may dig if they haven't heard yet is this year's DIIV
I see people are using the #GroupMetalAOTY2024 hashtag for their 5 favorite metal records this year - here's mine. I'm not fully ordering my favorite 20 metal records in a countdown ranking like I am with my all-genre list (and these albums are also on that list).
But my 5 favorite metal records this year are these (and yeah, they're gross):
5. Phlegmesis - The New Wave of Rotten Fornication
4. Stenched - Purulence Gushing from the Coffin
3. Hemorrhoid - Raw Materials of Decay
2. Diabetic Ketoacidosis - Dead Keloid Flesh Peels Off an Infectious Organism
1. Posthumous Regurgitation - The Coroner's Guide to Cadaveric Cuisine
Had my favorite 20 records of the year basically done but then today I have to find a perfect record that I have to put somewhere on the list. HIGH on the list. Something's gettin bumped
Partway finished writing up the upcoming https://spacetimetech.wordpress.com post for my 20 favorite records of 2024. It'll definitely be out sometime this month, probably soon. Once I start writing it, I can't really stop, then I'll edit it to death and eventually just throw it out there. 😂
It's #MusicWomenWednesday and I'm listening to this BANGER of a soul/R&B record by Yaya Bey, 'Ten Fold'. Great catchy, chill stuff, and her voice is killer.
Monday morning wake up music. #NowPlaying. HYPERDOG are from Linz, Austria and their record 'Frog Mountain' is an awesome recent find - it's become one of my favorite records from this year. Just can't stop playing it.
'Frog Mountain' took me a few listens to get into, but I kept coming back to it. (That's how I know I really like something).
I'm not a fan of intro tracks, so for me to dig an album that has an instrumental intro track that's over two minutes is saying something. But the track does speed up kinda cool, and then the next ones are kind of jangly, angular garage punk or garage rock with some new wave - I hear Devo or even something like the Plot record from last year. Fuzzy and catchy and incredible. Weird songs about PlayStations, wanting to be a ghost, or being an ant are for me.
11 songs in 22 minutes! 🔥

Since it's November, working on finishing up my favorite metal LPs of 2024. Shortlist at about 30. Going through some today. #NowPlaying is this one, which is VERY good & will probably be on the list.
Germany's DEMORED and 'Well of Liquid Souls'. REALLY great riffage and guitar stuff on this one. And drums, and everything else.
