#Democrats #2024election #DNC C’mon Ken, release the report. I’ll recreate a summation of what I think is or should be in it: Democrats lost miserably to the most inept, narcissistic, egomaniacal presidential candidate in US history and to a fascist Republican Party because we focused too much attention on fundraising and piss poor messaging. This should never have happened. We should have acknowledged the pain voters felt from inflation. We ran candidates because the party elites hand picked them, not because Democratic voters wanted them. We put way too much emphasis on social issues without educating voters on what those social issues meant. We came across as preaching and browbeating voters and not empathizing with their pain. In short, we fucked-up. Anyone have anything to add?

The Guardian notes that Cheney will be remembered for his role in the utterly unjustified US invasion of Iraq in 2003. And this is undoubtedly true.
But I'll have to comment on my own strong upward revision of my impression of him (granted, from a low initial level) for his opposition to the Orange Turd, and his 2024 statement that his vote would be cast for the Democratic candidate for President, Kamala Harris. In 2008 I'd considered him one of the darkest figures in US politics. That is no longer the case, by a long shot.
