It’s my favorite from Beyoncé. Maybe it’s the hook from the Chi-Lites “Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)” from 1970 that caught my ear. I’m pretty certain the album cover had absolutely nothing to do with it at the time. 😉 Whatever the case, it’s a toe tapper.

I’m quite content doing things like seeing grandkids or going to see the folks like I today and then plop my butt down here on deck and enjoy a pleasant evening. Who’d ever thunk it but there’s a Kelly Clarkson tune I actually like. And yes, I have been caught over the years doing some of the shenanigans to so many different tunes (most involving air guitar or air drums) depicted in the video. Although even I would draw the line at getting out my vehicle and playing in traffic.

When I was deployed to U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 2008, among the things I did off duty, besides co-host a Saturday morning classic rock show on “Radio GTMO” was doing some DJ work at the Windjammer. This was a mainstay for that particular club scene. I was pleased when it showed up in the first “Hangover” flick the next year.

Right around the time grandkid number four (my first of two granddaughters) arrived, I heard this song for the first time. Caroline (as are all six of my grandkids) is definitely an “upside.” At some point, I’d like to put a video together with photos of her with this song as the background which is something I’ve always wanted to do with the Allman Brothers instrumental “Jessica” for my daughter, Jessica.
