I got a positive message out of the city of Werther in Westfalia: In 2023 there was a trekkingplace initiative and a debate in the local town council: The administration got to evaluate possibilities for nature biwak / trekking places in the Teutoburg Forest and possible cooperations with neighboring municipalities and organisations like Teutoburg Forest Tourism and the "Hermannshöhen" hiking project. I asked some more places in Bielefeld and the surrounding regions for cooperation. One of three project adresses I contaced at "Teutoburger Wald Tourismus" wrote a negative response. The organisation is part of "OstWestfalenLippe GmbH" that tries to make regional marketing and is owned by cities and regional councils. A "content strategy" paper about the digital future of regional tourism and targeted groups can be downloaded: I learned that "Tourismus NRW eV" wants to reach the milieus "Performer", "Expeditive" and the "Adaptive-Pragmatical". I got a positive message out of the city of Werther in Westfalia: In 2023 there was a trekkingplace initiative and a debate in the local town council: The administration got to evaluate possibilities for nature biwak / trekking places in the Teutoburg Forest and possible cooperations with neighboring municipalities and organisations like Teutoburg Forest Tourism and the "Hermannshöhen" hiking project. In 2023 this project came to an end, but now there is new hope to start to create a (first) trekking place as a cooperation with my shelter-project.

I asked some more places in Bielefeld and the surrounding regions for cooperation. One of three project adresses I contaced at "Teutoburger Wald Tourismus" wrote a negative response. The organisation is part of "OstWestfalenLippe GmbH" that tries to make regional marketing and is owned by cities and regional councils. A "content strategy" paper about the digital future of regional tourism and targeted groups can be downloaded: I learned that "Tourismus NRW eV" wants to reach the milieus "Performer", "Expeditive" and the "Adaptive-Pragmatical". "Teutoburger Wald Tourismus" just want to talk to the last. Translation by me:

"The adaptive pragmaticals are looking for a modern lifestyle at accomodations, for openness and flexibility, but also for safety and a cocoon feeling. The design of locations should adapt to this wishes, mixing regional identity and modern coolness." It is a pity what is NOT in this paper... bike, bikepacking, biketravels, trekking,... "Phrase not found". But let us switch to the topic of how to find a good location for a trekking place in nature: It must not necessarily be exactly at a bike or hike route... My idea is to publish it in the "Open Street Map" and e.g. at https://1nitetent.com -> A german initiative for free overnight stays in private gardens (while on long distance bike tours), because there are so few public places for it in germany.

It would be a dream to once have a germany wide map for free trekkingplaces, filled in cooperation with all municipalities and nature protection organizations at https://umwelt.info, a website made by the german governments environment agency... because that is just what is reality in Denmark with udinaturen.dk ... Hat in meiner Fahrradbubble jemand Erfahrung mit #warmshowers? Außerhalb Deutschlands scheint das durchaus attraktiv zu sein für Radreisende. Ich habe aber halt wenig Lust 30€ für die Katze im Sack zu zahlen nur um zu sehen wie viele Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten es im jeweiligen Zielland überhaupt gibt. Für Deutschland ist mir #1nitetent irgendwie sympathischer.

Ich guck gerade die 1nitetent-Seite. Zelten für Radelnde, vorwiegend. Hat sich viel getan. Auch bei uns in Westdeutschland und in der Schweiz gibts mittlerweile einige Leute, die ihr Grundstück für Wildzeltende bereit stellen.
