J.C. de Widt, untitled example of original micrography, 10.63 × 12.75 in, Amsterdam, 1780.
Our last post showed the largest letters in the upcoming 10 × 10 for 10 exhibition. This item contains the smallest letters—by far. Micrography (or microcalligraphy) is the art of creating images using tiny writing. This kind of calligram has a long religious history based on the devout observation of the second commandment against images.#10x10for10 #Micrography #Microcalligraphy #Dutch #Calligraphy
