On our local news tonight there was a piece about school children making 18,000 plus paper cranes, partly to break a record & partly to do with peace. I wonder how many of these children would know of or even understand the story of Sadako Sasaki.
I read this book when I was preteen, my Dad gave it to me & I’m glad he did. It had a huge effect in the way I thought about a lot of things. I forgot about it for years, I don’t think I wouldn’t hurt for children to read it now. I don’t think it would hurt for anyone to read it now. #Books #1000Cranes #SadakoSasaki #NuclearBomb -
