The new #ElectrifyAmerica EV chargers at the Emeryville IKEA are very nice. 10 units (I think the most of any EA in the East Bay) all 350kW and far from the door so they aren’t blocked with gas cars. Currently me, a Lucid Air, an Ioniq 6, and a a Mustang Mach-E.

#SFBART being down fucking sucks. This TransBay bus is packed to the gills and it's definitely not safe; there aren't many handholds. In a working transit system they'd be running extra buses or bus bridges but instead the seventh largest rapid transit system in the country is just telling tens of thousands of people to wing it.

Spent all day calling #California #EDD a few dozen times to try to get my family leave processed (note: they haven’t paid me at all yet in the 4.5 weeks since I filed for PFL). Finally got onto the hold line (instead of just getting “the maximum number of callers has been reached, please call back later”) about 25 minutes ago. The hold music plays for 45 seconds, then a message tells me “all representatives are still busy, please continue to hold, expected wait time is 1 minute”. Every minute.
Why can’t I do this online? Why can’t they do a callback instead of a hold line? Why do they have a limit of how many people can be on hold at once, necessitating that I call them dozens of times? Why does it keep telling me the hold time is “1 minute”? California has 1737 FTEs working in this specific department; how many do you think it would take to make this actually work? 3000? 5000?

Just watched a smash and grab in #Rockridge #Oakland. So fast! Light blue Accord with Hertz stickers and no front plate pulls up; guy with bat smashes window, guy jumps in target car and a grabs a backpack; jumps back in Accord; car peels out and makes a left on red to get off of College. Maybe 25 seconds total.
