A similar era building from Vancouver leans more Gothic than Beaux-Arts / Chicago School.
Buildings like this were built in Vancouver around the same time as the SF Edwardian style buildings, but for different reasons. Vancouver preferred Gothic (post-Roman), where SF preferred the more pre-gothic stylings.
Both styles and buildings use glazed terra cotta for the fine detail, which has lasted more than a hundred years in both cases.

So, what's happening? Aahh, now, are you going to go ahead and wait for your flight another half hour.
...
Ah, yeah. So what's happening? Uh, yeah, your flight has been delayed again ...
...
(there's nothing better than getting flight delay notifications from 4 different systems at the same time)

Kebab-case still makes me giggle. Visualizing ASCII is funny on a deeply nerdy level.

"The Coaster" is a wooden roller coaster in Vancouver, B.C. It's the largest wooden coaster in Canada, and the third built on the PNE/Playland site over the last ~100 years.

I recreated my memory of a burger from the 1980s, cooked in my kitchen last week, and photographed on a Olympus OM-1 with Kodak Gold 200. It turns out nostalgia is mostly about opinionated film.

I present the open source whopper v4.0:
1. 130g of cheap 90/10 beef, formed by hand into balls, then smashed + par frozen. Cook on a griddle or grill, and season with S/P/MSG on one side after flipping.
2. McGavins 5 inch burger bun, or Fournee Doree brioche sesame buns (not too dense, not too fatty)
3. Add a pinch of citric acid to 4-6 hamburger slice pickles.
4. Shaved onion, tomato, and shredduce.
5. Dress to your liking (whopper style pictured here). -

One thing I've learned this year is that I'm happier and more productive when I lean into my ADHD.
Most days I can find a #hyperfocus state. One way to think about it is that my brain works better when it's 100% engaged, so if a task only needs 60%, I need to fill that other 40% somehow. That's where I take obsessive notes, or do research for next tasks in the background.

I love the feeling of old-world streets and buildings, especially as the oldest roads here are are from the 1800s (and uncommon), compared to Portugal's oldest from 800+ years earlier.

The one advantage of a 4C (~40F) day is that the air is crisp and the sunsets are extra contrast-y.
