  1. It was never easier to slop together a personal webapp or game. While the agent is busy coding, see the app take shape in real time in your browser where you can interact with it and give feedback to the agent.

When you're happy you tell it to deploy and it gets shipped live as its own app.

  2. You can also just as well code by hand without any AI, and deploy from a terminal. The cli has no opinions and doesn't care.

Debugging all the same. You get a shell into the pod over an ssh tunnel.

  3. Isn't this just a poor man's Replit or Lovable? Yes. Yes it is. But just let me cook and reinvent the wheel.

  4. The agent is really just OpenCode, which is excellent, has a great web ui and is MIT licensed.

OpenCode also ships with preconfigured inference providers and has a selection of free models to kick the tires without subscriptions or costs.

Even supports connecting to custom backends like your own locally hosted models if freepod can reach them over the internet.

  5. I guess it was inevitable. I added a coding agent to freepod.dev that lets users build custom apps that are then automatically deployed to freepod.

It already does developer hosting with a cli and an agent skill, so adding a cloud agent naturally closed the loop.
