I just released v1.1.0 of Complexitty, my little #Mandelbrot explorer for the #terminal. This release is all about an optional method of making it faster.
-
Currently playing with adding optional #Numba support to Complexitty; my #Mandelbrot plotter for the #terminal. The speedup is okay.
Given this zoom and position, on my M2 Mac mini, 0.8 seconds. With Numba: 0.2 seconds.
I should give it a spin on my M2 Pro mini.
Without Numba on my 2019 Intel MacBook Pro the same spot takes about 2 seconds.

Finalist – threatened species: Standing Watch
‘Huddled together for warmth on a cold morning, these juvenile #numbats (affectionately known as numbubs) survey their surroundings for any potential threats. With introduced species such as the feral cat and European red fox to contend with, their formative years are spent learning to blend in with their woodland surroundings, always alert to danger.’ Wiilman country, Dryandra, Western Australia.

Just typed "11cm in inch" into #numbat because my brain lagged and forgot how numbat's unit conversion syntax works. I was then quite confused when it gave me an answer:
70.9676 cm³
Took me a moment to figure that one out :D

Numbats used to be all across mainland Australia but by the '70s there were only about 300 individuals in Western Australia. We've done well to control predators and improve fire management but they still need our help!
