Have a read of #AmyRemeikis in #ThePoint. She taps all of the issues on the head and her view is well argued. I dare say, most of us here would agree with her. And while the deliberate misuse of technology for nefarious ends is rightly blamed for increasing violent reactions, so is the management of our economy (aka Govt policies and legislative agenda).
After all, what could be easier for malfeasants than tap into the anger and frustration of those in our society who have been forgotten (which is most of us I hasten to add) because they are merely thought of as *externalities* or *parameters* in a system of wealth distribution designed to favour the few.
The principal salves to our ills are quite simply an economy geared towards the better good of all in our society and a govt with a priority to serve all Australians equitably. The fact that we have neither in operation (in fact, there’s only fierce opposition to them from the benefiting layers of our society) has given rise to, and continue to nurture the violence we are witnessing (and the violence we don’t see) in Australia.
When a pauper sees a king and his retinue parade by, what can he do but throw mud at the ostentatious display of wealth to make his outrage known.
