Playing a bit with trying to implement indoor mapping support in libshumate (and ultimatly in Maps):
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libshumate/-/tree/wip/mlundblad/indoor-levels
So far, one can manually edit a hard-coded value (in shumate/shumate-vector-renderer.c) and run the libshumate demo app, selecting the "OSM Liberty" map source alternative.
So, don't expect anything mature soon… 😄

Experimenting with showing custom icons for stations. Inspired a bit from our highway shield rendered (derived from OpenStreetMap Americana)
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-maps/-/tree/wip/mlundblad/station-icons
It's making use of the "network:wikidata" OSM tag.
Currently rendering these icons in map view itself is not tested (this needs an extra addition to our planetiler generator for the vector tiles to be run in the next import).

There has been some controversy around naming of certain bodies of water in other map apps lately.
So I thought about a possible solution to take a more neutral approach to this in Maps:

Made some more progress on the implementation of the “stoptimes” API from MOTIS in Maps.
Now actually showing departures (or arrivals) in the place details when clicking on a “public transit-type“ place (station etc.), when there's data available in Transitous.
The rows still only shows the transit mode icon and line number/name (e.g. missing time, destination and so on…)#gnomemaps #gnome #motis #transitous #PublicTransport #PublicTransit

Cool that Transitous now has schedule data for transit in Tbilisi, Georgia. In a couple of weeks it's exactly 15 years ago I was there on a work trip just about a month after started working for PrimeKey!
Would be kinda nice to visit again.
(I wanted to get a trip with one of the gondola (aerial way) lines for the screenshot, but got no results for that (I think they should be in the timetable data)

Attended a photo presentation about connection buses to the Stockholm metro (and the period before that), up until 1967 by Stefan Back from Svenska spårvägssällskapet held at Spårvägsmuseet (Stockholm transport museum).

Pickled herring and snaps for lunch. And it was snowing wet snow earlier in the morning. So it's pretty similar to a Christmas eve… 🌨️🌧️

Experimenting with showing platform information for the public transit itineraries in Maps (when available from datasets).
Maybe these labels spelling out "Departing from…" and so on are a bit "wordy"…
