  1. So we got super lucky and hired @zeroSteiner over in VulnCheck-land, and after he and our exploit dev team got RCE working on a range of ASLR-enabled x86 systems last night, we forced him to agree to do a webcast on hackery next week. Someone please help him, he's trapped on company Zooms and can't escape.

We've been watching exposure numbers shift and Canary hits roll in. Our research crew has been merrily swimming in the AI PoC swamp, since we are masochists and review literally all the exploit code on GitHub. The first functional *public* ASLR bypass PoC our team tested cropped up this afternoon, so things might be about to go 📈 Anyway, it'll be fun and technical and the webinar equivalent of lying down on the floor and going "man wtf" for 45 minutes. 2. Merrelyn Emery took it a step further. Where Rice and Miller treated Bion’s basic assumptions as part of group life that leadership had to manage, she wrote that “The bas are the consequences of DP1 structure and as such are avoidable.”

So how important is the psychology of the individuals in a team? I still think it matters, but mostly as something the structure produces. Much of what we try to fix in teams – lack of accountability, trust, psychological safety – are symptoms of DP1, which is why all the training and coaching in the world cannot make them go away.

The bridge from psychology to sociology is not about managing people’s affective reactions, but getting the structure right so people can have a whole task and shared purpose. That may also be why so much of what HR offers works on the people and leaves the structure as it is.
