    > [Ghost now] Actively built with LLMs

    Jesus wept.

    Added to the fediverse.party watchlist of apps doing that;

    codeberg.org/fediverse/fedipar

Please let us know if you learn of any others. For now there's a moratorium on listing any app on the site if the developers merge auto-generated code.

We hadn't got around to listing Ghost, for a few reasons (backlog, and the headscratcher of AP support being a tack-on module), so we won't for now.

  5. @hexaheximal 72 is a number I haven't seen... 32, 20, 40, 60, 50 have all been there - with 20 being PayPal, see social.tchncs.de/@jesterchen/1

I've had a huge collection of these sites at Twitter while I changed my 800+ passwords after LastPass.......

For more password fails search for #passwordfail or have a look at @dumbpasswordrules

  6. @hexaheximal Lets be honest:

The average #EndUser is most likely so #TechIlliterate they'd not even know how to file an issue on #GitHub, much less provide any patches to it.

#GPLv3 harmed #FLOSS as a net negative for being more of an ideological manifesto than a useable license, demanding stuff that goes completely against existing laws and reality (espechally in terms of patents) and basically opened up the floodgates to what I consider "asshole licensing" that solely exists to stifle any competition and enshure said FLOSS can't be freely used. (see #SSPL, which is worse than a CC-BY-NC-SA as it literally has provisions that may not be strictly legal in many juristictions)...

"Freedoms" also don't work if they ain't real choices:
We can't claim people ain't forced to do wagework when not having a job will cause them to get homeless, die from starvation and sickness.

#TechLiteracy is seriously underdeveloped and in fact we see massive amounts of #regression.

The Idea of OS/1337 is to build something that is actually auditable and reproduceable even at the cost of functionality...

Because only the freedoms one can actually exercise against the will of the state are effective!

  10. @hexaheximal case in point:
#Copyleft doesn't work in terms of getting #contributions or actual improvements.

One can not really force people to do intellectual labour nor get them to share it!

But don't take my word for it, because @landley has been there and done that as the fmr. maintainer of #BusyBox and nowadays maintains a competing project (#toybox) licensed under #0BSD...

    ---

TBH I'm not against the #GPL, not even #GPLv3 because when you want to commit #AssetDenial it does that fine and I use it for that...

But sadly #FLOSS doesn't exist in a vacuum and as much as I wished #CCSS to never have existed in the first place, it sadly does and worse people often depend on that shite...

    ---

So I do aim to #DoBetter instead...

  14. very lazily made and incomplete... but... uhh... enjoy.

basically, I grabbed the colors from git.shadamethyst.xyz/amethyst/ and wrote a script to replace the original colors with the blobarcticfox colors.

Don't import the entire emoji pack though. It will cause chaos since I didn't change the emoji names and also like half of them are very broken.

    Well done!

It looks like the #dotCons are going down the partisan path, with #DogCoinPusher doing the Fox side and BlueSky, the CNN side. Togather they'll continue the old #divideAndRule, bi-partisan model. Toxic. Time to move to federated.

If interested, here's a fediverse icon (and repo) anyone may use (and/or mirror) on Codeberg :) Its more accurate to say Fediverse over Mastodon.

  19. federated.nexus Announcement!

We now have proper documentation with screenshots for each service

We now have documentation at federated.nexus/services/docs/ for each service, so if you have any questions on what we are hosting, it should be answered there!

Big thanks to @hexaheximal for creating the Forgejo and LaSuite Docs pages!

  20. I love javascript

  21. Additionally, it raises questions about the licensing status of the assets in Brux GDK itself since the test suite contains the Midi spritesheet (I would know this - I wrote the test suite code) and is AGPLv3.

At best, KLPL is unenforceable because you can get the files from older commits or the engine assets under a different license. At worst, it puts into question the licensing status of everything involved.

  22. I'm not sure what the underlying goal and philosophy was, but I will state clearly and publicly that this is a bad idea.

Especially since it has been AGPLv3, I do not consider this to be particularly necessary, and in my opinion it is incompatible too.

Nobody wants more licensing drama, and I'm getting tired of it. At best, this is a solution to a problem that does not exist.

  23. git.openwrt.org/openwrt/openwr

    Are you fucking kidding me???

I knew OpenWrt was slowly falling apart as a project for different reasons, but this is the final nail in the coffin for me taking it seriously going forward.

  24. The good news is _for now_ the changes are not significant enough to (in my opinion) really be copyrightable (and thus potentially infringing, etc.) but this is not a great sign.

  25. I am now proud to announce that I have successfully built #CyanogenMod (the well-known #AOSP fork) on Debian 12. It took a small amount of patching to get working but it wasn't actually that bad.

Next up: Forking CM11, changing the branding (to #KittyKat), and making some changes.

  26. When building alsa-utils with a custom toolchain + sysroot, I get this error:

libtool: error: cannot find the library '/usr/lib/libasound.la' or unhandled argument '/usr/lib/libasound.la'

However, the file does exist inside of the sysroot, and configure claims to use the sysroot that the compiler specifies.

    How do I solve this?
