  1. 1155: Do you enjoy musicals? If so, what’s your favorite one? Has it ever brought you inspiration for a story?

I love musical. I've seen some great national tours. I've been in local amateur productions.

My favorite is Sweeney Todd, which I saw in Boston with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn--the National Tour cast that was taped and shown later on PBS.

It has not inspired a story, but it has gotten nods in some of my work. Jack and his father are barbers, after all.

“It is a shame that there were also some incriminating articles among your things. This nice sharp razor, for example.”

“What does that prove? Did somebody give Dame Trott a shave before putting her down the well?”

“That is unknown, because we haven’t got her up out of the well yet. But surely you have heard old tales of crazy barbers who slice up their victims with razors."

  2. 14 Oct—Who do you wish you could share your work with, but can't?

I'd like to share progress on my WIP with my mom, but at the age of 88, she doesn't not want to read installments because she says her memory isn't good enough to keep track of what she had read earlier.

My adult child says they have trouble focusing on long fiction and has only read a few books in the eight years since finishing school.

I hesitate to ask folks who I only know through social media.
