@Anibyl Carbon is what carbon does :-). If you ride your carbon bicycle a lot, it will have these sorts of "cracking" issues far sooner than a steel frame ridden the same distance. It seems pointless unless you are part of a racing team with a mechanic and you get new bicycles every 5 years or less OR you have lots of $ #Ymmv

@Anibyl 100% agree. FYI - #Saanich has zero people with physical #disabilities on their #accessibility committee & our town council is full of #ableists 👎🤡💩

@Anibyl
I’ve seen these with gaps for bikesIf they had lots of close speed bumps for cars 🚙 , all with gaps to let bikes 🚲 and scooters 🛴 pass, it would be quite exciting for drivers going too fast 🫨
Washboard streets
But yeah, focus #TrafficCalming on the most dangerous traffic and encourage the safer modes 💡

@Anibyl I was hit with the same Big Corp Compliance bs 💩 But the big frameworks (NIST SP 800-63B / PCI-DSS) don't actually require this madness! I collected some quotes here: https://søb.org/password/ in case people want to fight this internally

That's where my friend broke his #derailleur hanger: it snapped when he carried his bike across barriers https://mas.to/@Anibyl/110412407608382068
With help of a passerby he managed to convert his 1x11 #drivetrain to a #SingleSpeed one.
Hangers fatigue and break, especially when riding off-road; it's better to be ready for that: carry spare hanger, chain breaker, pliers, chain link. We had only a chain breaker 😔
I've also heard that gearhubs are pretty reliable 😜

@mossyfoot @Anibyl I find it's a good idea to change the #Rohloff to the highest gear before undoing the box. It is usually easier to get back on then.
First time I did it I ended up "losing" some gears. (Found them again by changing gears and controller to top - taking the box on and off several times to do so.) -

@ascentale @Anibyl #BikeNite A4: I have a cable based #AfterShokz bone conduction headset (actually two) and it doesn't really interfere with my glasses. I think it sits mostly on the outer side of my glasses' arms. I'm even not sure. Never was an issue.It's made for being used during sport activities, but I never use any headset on the bike. I mostly just use in the office. I love it, but mostly because I can't stand anything sitting on or in my ears. (Except warm caps. 😉)

Yo #yegbike, it's #pedalpoll day, and I cheekily assigned myself to Clareview LRT Station East, away from the big bike thoroughfares downtown. I'll be counting from 4 to 6 pm. Inspired by https://social.coop/@Anibyl/114619750381195213, how many cyclists do you think I'll count there?

Reading comments under articles like this makes you realize how popular pirating has become again.

Unrelated, I recently upgraded my media server storage, 4x the capacity.
