I heard on Iowa Public Radio this morning that Gov Reynolds signed a bill permitting over-the-counter Ivermectin sales.
Great, let's all take Ivermectin as a 21st century cure all, for viruses and cancer and anything else our whim strikes! Why would we use evidence-based science to guide us!?
Meanwhile Covid-19 vaccines, some of the most researched medicine ever, Republicans have made harder to obtain at the pharmacy.

Cook currently rates West Virginia as +21 Republican. As much as I disliked Manchin, I’d always said he was about as progressive leaning as a Senator could be and still win in West Virginia.
And since this is social media, I’m sure some dumb fvck will be along in just a minute to tell me the five times Manchin made deciding votes against the progressive position, as if I didn’t know that already.
Yeah no shit, but I’d rather have Manchin than Turnip-endorsed Sen Justice.

I’m reading a lot here on Mamdani, and for the people who are happy with him, I say genuinely, “great!”
But then people start talking about how he’s proof that moderate candidates serve no purpose.
In the 2025 mayoral race, the Republican Sliwa got less than 9% of the vote. Mamdani and Cuomo combined for over 91%. When you have a constituency lean progressive that hard, a lot is possible!
It’s foolish to conclude from that, the same formula will be successful nationwide.
