  1. Okay I'm over here instead of @[email protected] to join #VGMWednesday created by @miona!

This week's theme is #BossBattles and I'm going to be a little different than what most others will do because this particular game has the most beautiful music. And that game is #GRIS, developed by Nomada Studio with music by Berlinist.

The song is called Karasu and occurs when the big black bird attacks you.

  2. Ok one more. ATLUS went all out for the SMTV soundtrack, and I remember the first time this tune kicked in in game, I stopped the fight and just sat there freaking out to this for about 5 minutes, before getting my arse kicked by Nuwa and dumped back to the game over screen. This is just epic, turn it up

  5. Music prompt from @miona featuring game music from #BossBattles

Never actually played the game, but this immediately caught my attention due to its roots in Tangerine Dream's music:

  7. My first #VgmWednesday I'd like to share a #BossMusic that always gets me pumped. It's the JP/EU boss them from #Sonic CD. I love the energy of it and it just sounds so Eggman with the laughing.

  9. Borrowed from @miona

For today's #VgmWednesday I'd like you to imagine you are at a party. However, it's getting a bit late and the energy seems a bit fading.

Which game tune would you ask the dj to spin to #ReviveTheDancefloor and get the party going again? 🎶

Could me an original tune or a remix, all is allowed 🎮

My pick is Burning Body, the boss theme from Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou.
That will wake everyone up! :ablobcaramelldansen:

  11. For @miona ‘s #VgmWednesday the theme this week is #ChildhoodGames

So since I grew up on late 70s and 80s arcade games, that should be an easy pick.
Selecting Bubble Bobble feels like cheating, although it might be s good entry for an ear worms episode?

So I’m picking a game that’s very dear to my me and one I keep returning to year after year: Elevator Action by Taito.

  12. #VGMWednesday by @miona has the theme of #ChildhoodGames from @mdmrn

The first game that came to mind was Rock n Roll Racing on SNES. 16 bit versions of actual rock songs like George Thorogood & The Destroyers "Bad To The Bone", Black Sabbat "Paranoid", and more.

  13. I'm going to join @[email protected] in showing my age this #VGMWednesday We're talking #ChildhoodGames this week, and for me that means countless afternoons lying on the landing with the family's Amstrad CPC 464 plugged into my parents' bedroom.

One game I spent plenty of time on was the tie-in game for the original Ghostbusters movie (which I didn't watch until my late teens as it happens). I wasn't that good at it, but I certainly played the heck out of it!

Here's the game's rendition of Ray Parker Jr's theme song, which played in full every time you loaded the game (which already took ages to do in the first place, mind you, so you had to be sure of what you wanted to play in those days!)

  14. Today on #VGMWednesday it's about #ChildhoodGames
Well, here is proof that y'all are much younger than me, because in my
childhood video game music wasn't a thing. 😅 Video games barely were.

But, the first PC-based video game I got for myself (on a Mac no less) was "Glider". A simple platform-like dexterity-based puzzle game with a great editor software and lovingly crafted pixel art environs. I was 18 at the time but I think it still counts. I made such a cool set of levels with it. Still a bit proud of it.

Also, just thinking about Glider makes the theme play in my head for the rest of the day.

  15. This week for #VGMWednesday, @miona picked my theme of #ChildhoodGames!

Time to pick up some nostalgic video game music.

Normally, this is where I go with a Sonic game. Not today.

Let's travel back to the early 90s when I had borrowed a copy of Bart vs the Space Mutants from a friend. That is the #TheSimpsons NES / Master System game where Bart is battling aliens that have invaded Springfield. It's...dumb, but I can't forget some of these tunes. youtube.com/watch?v=NLjxJ48UBg

This might be cheating since it’s not an OST but does anyone remember Road Rash?

  17. My pick for todays #vgmwednesday theme #ChildhoodGames is:

Legend of Kyrandia (OST, adlib and hig quality FLAC version) is one of the earlier point and click adventures that I loved playing as a kid - allthough it was quite difficult without the internet 😄
    Emerald Room is very relaxing
    youtu.be/ymTioBu2_Hk?feature=s

Also great: Timbermist Woods, Pool of Sorrow, Caves and more

Bonus: fan-made enhanced MT-32 tracks, Check out these strings and guitars in Pool of Sorrow

  18. #VGMWednesday #SuperSixteenBit this tune is such a bop. Tsukasa Masuko was an absolute wizard. I got the SMT 30th Anniversary box set last year and it had the entire SMT I and II OSTs ripped directly from a Super Famicom, I listen to them a lot

  19. It's #VgmWednesday by @miona! I've missed these! Today's theme is #SuperSixteenBit, and my pick is the underworld theme in Terranigma, which doesn't quite get as much love as it's contemporaries but it's soundtrack is phenomenal as are the themes the narrative tries to tackle.

  20. This week @miona is BACK for VGM Wednesday! Welcome back!

She comes at us with a fantastic theme of "Super Sixteen Bit."

From the Genesis / SNES era, one of my favorite beat 'em ups is Comix Zone. For those who never played, it tells the story of a comic book artist who gets pulled into his own comic by it's main villain. He then has to fight from panel to panel to survive. It's cool and has a 16-bit rock inspired soundtrack.

    Here's the entire soundtrack: invidious.slipfox.xyz/watch?v=
