Cats and boxes, eh?
This has been here for two weeks now, and Zizouchat is so taken with it (with a its pleasingly crunchy packing paper) that I haven’t got the heart to put it out for recycling.

As it’s a touch chilly today, Zizou has discovered a new nestling point between the layers of a padded camping blanket on the bed in the upstairs office. Very wise. My wife, it must be said, was foolish to take it off her lap and to leave it unattended for a moment as she worked. Zizou is now closely supervising her efforts.

This is the first thing I see most days.

Fair to say, the cat has adapted to my wife’s absence this week by completely annexing her side of the bed. There could be an interesting battle for the space tomorrow night.

She loves this window being open. She’ll come in the cat flap and then straight back out via the window, or vice-versa. Who knows what goes on in that little head?

I had a nap this afternoon and was delighted to be joined by this purring creature.

It’s been up for a couple of weeks and been utterly ignored, but we go away for the weekend and look what I come back to…. £5 well spent in a charity shop (in the end!)

Fair to say that me and the cat both enjoyed a bit of a bank holiday lie-in this morning.

It’s incredibly pleasing to wake up to this most mornings.

My cat has started hopping onto my chest for a couple of hours every morning from about 5-6am. She wakes me up with her purring and I’m here for it.
My wife is insanely jealous. -

My cat, literally moments before falling out of the window and trying to style it out. She’s spent the evening trying (and obviously failing) to jump out of the now-shut window. Such a beautiful, lovable idiot.

Opened the door to the grocery delivery this morning and found him distracted by something. It didn’t take long to solve the mystery.

Zizou is clearly gripped by the Italian Job. Mind you, I’ve been napping, so far be it for me to criticise.

A new cardboard box has just arrived in the house.

Our cat has a burgeoning collection of hairbands under the dining room table. I only hope she finds them on the pavement and doesn’t just take them from people under threat of violence. If so, I can only apologise.

Zizouchat has located the best possible slot (that isn’t occupied by me) in front of the fire.

I’ve never known a cat like this. Zizou is a Bengal/Maine cross and has the thickest undercoat. She just doesn’t feel it when she’s wet, and so she loves being out in the rain. She’s sat here now, absolutely wringing wet and apparently as happy as Larry.

When you’re a bit damp after a long rainy night out on your beat, and you’re sleepy and cosy in your favourite box, but you really, really want a belly rub.
(Surprisingly, not a trap. She really does just want a belly rub).
