Look how lazy this art is. They're not even making the effort to create a decent, cliched mountain of heads. It's bad enough they can't draw and are just using the same deadly dull processes, but now they don't even have a sense of composition. Ugh.

Lovely photography, though. The photography in Columbo represents a kind of ideal for me, in terms of its boxy, journeyman classicism. Just beautiful.

#Columbo S7/E3 Make Me a Perfect Murder. I remember this one being a bit better than it really is. There is a tremendous amount of filler, some of it quite absurd (Columbo watching oscilloscopes in the tv studio?!). Although I am more accepting of this boondoggling than a lot of Columbo fans. (I don’t even mind the much-maligned Commodore episode.)

I have to say, this certainly seems like something designed to get in on a certain market rather than because it needed to exist. I guess I shouldn't begrudge them their smart business decisions — if it is smart, but it looks pretty uninspired.

Season 7 of Columbo is as good as any of the seasons. Ruth Gordon is one of the few guest stars who is as interesting as Falk. I'm a fan of Nicol Williamson, though his episode is not the best. The Jonathan Demme food episode is hilarious and definitely one of my favorites. Make Me a Perfect Murder is also pretty strong.
