  1. 8K Run

🏃🏽‍♀️running now felt easier. I still have a little DOMS - mostly in one of my calves (I think the one that cramped the most at Copenhagen Marathon). Tendon/tissue made itself aware in one of my legs … but got warmed up during the run .. so my bet is that its ok in a few days 🙃🏃🏻‍♂️😇.

I will for sure not push effort yet 😅

  2. 6 months of running daily

I didn’t set out with an intention to run-streak. But I have nevertheless been running everyday since a few days after Kullamannen 100 miles 2025. (For the record: Backyard counted too, but special case🙃)

In general I have since then run a much higher mileage than before it. YTD it’s on average close to 120K per week.

I don’t plan on run streaking. But it just happens these months 😂. 7-8K recovery runs seems sufficient to gear down (taper/recovery).

  3. Just saw a YouTube video from the triathlon network about the Norseman challenge. It looks so cool that it almost makes me want to train for it 😆. Wife says no. Also I can’t swim at that level, let alone bike on a real racer.

But wow what a challenge 🤩. I love how it starts and ends. And the biking elevation. So amazing.

  4. Had an exciting day at the job 😎🤠

Some fun Spring Security troubleshooting on the side (actually a colleague of mine did the hard work - I just attempted to help with ideas etc)👌🏼

Then also some camel route unit testing (without spring boot etc - vanilla Java and camel): lightening fast tests👌🏼

Then some Apache pulsar API exploration. Aim: enabling message analysis etc👌🏼

  5. Hacked on some 🐪 code today. Nice to focus on coding primarily most of the day (very little disturbance).

Spent a lot of time in the debugger. So I guess that was like meeting a good old friend 🤠

Integrating with via the camel provided component for that. Using OAuth.

Still enjoying all this hands on. Don’t miss the Lead Engineer days. It was for sure the right choice to become a Senior Engineer again 🤠👌🏼

  6. Work: Currently building an specification for use in connecting our app with our backend via an event broker…

Our infrastructure domain experts then provides a service that can scaffold topics etc…

So at some point later we’ll connect code on one side and on the other.

And then we’ll brag about having an *event driven* architecture!

(Currently sweating 😓 over naming conventions etc … so it’ll take a while 🙃)

  7. @recollir @moelholm this one’s a bit tougher and has a great video showing you what to expect. I think you could both ace this one but it’s a bit too tough for me. #skyrace #running

  8. A pristine and most beautiful morning. Also a very cold one. But I did a nice long run, stage 46 of #52weeks52halfmarathons.

These days, I play around with the hydration vest I got for Christmas from my mother-in-law. It's a Salomon 12 Adv Skin (recommended by @moelholm, thank you!), and so far I'm most happy with it. But I do look forward to not wearing a reflector vest on top of it...

  9. 💤😴🥱Rest day

Spending the day busy doing nothing.

Mentally preparing for tomorrows run(s) 🏃🏽. Considering to implement a double run day so that I get some rest on Sunday before the upcoming big volume week.

  10. @WTL @moelholm it's worth all the money, I promise! You can even skip the amusement park and buy an extra day there.
If we ever make such a trip again, that's what we're planning on doing.

I have heard of a training method called #rucksacking which basically consist in walking / running with heavy backpack

So maybe keep the MacBook ? 😅

  12. @moelholm priorities. hope they are having/had fun. I know how it is to be a #sportsdad - my teenage kid is into swimming on a high level - lots of #dadtaxi required for all the training sessions and competitions. But I ❤️ all of it. Even if we need to get up at 5am regularly. 😜

  17. 2024 Running Year in Review 🏃🏻‍♂️

I just wrote a quick summary of how 2024 was for me in terms of running 🏃🏻‍♂️. It’s late … but now that I have the platform in place to publish it I felt I better had to get it done 🤠

This is my first year review description. I tried to keep it short and to the point. But I couldn’t help slip in a few photos from the races too; to spice it up a bit.

    Feedback very welcome 👏🏻🏃🏻‍♂️

  18. 🎉My website repurposed. Now: running focused 🏃🏻‍♂️

    moelholm.com

Wife out with my daughter. Boys occupied with I don’t know what 😬. So I spent the morning repurposing my Web site. It was software engineering focused - now it is running focused.

    My first race report:

I wanted a place to capture more details about my races (reports/notes). To remember 👴🏻 and maybe inspire others? 😇😀

    Feedback welcome 🙏🏻

  19. Breaking news: mozart 100 by UTMB 🤠🤭

I decided that I will visit Austria 🇦🇹 in June and take on the longest mozart 100 by UTMB challenge.

It will be totally alone. Just like my first “by UTMB” race in Croatia 🇭🇷 some almost 2 years back. I would love to bring my family … but it’s not super practical in terms of vacation days and economy. So alone it is (slightly nervous in a good way… excited is probably a better expression).

  20. @moelholm with the 2.0.0 of you'll be able to use observability too as composed functions!

  21. Work: Today I fooled around a tiny bit with in our app. Auto configured by .

A very pleasant experience. Only used the Retryer functionality. But easy and to the point.

  22. Still recovering from yesterday’s epic #UTS50 #running challenge. Great to catch up with @moelholm and be there with @recollir too. Absolutely brutal challenge and stunning weather, Eryri in all its splendour 😊🗻🏃‍♂️

  23. Not running right now … but 🤩…:

  24. In case you missed it, @moelholm also races #CPH42 today!! He has bib 15407.

If you see him out there, cheer him on - but do it immediately, for he is *fast*.

  25. Ok didn’t get drawn 😂 … there was 11K people in the lottery. People with much more tickets than me. First year applicants like me only have one ticket. Some have like …32/64/128/256/512 (depends on how many years they didn’t get drawn). So it was totally expected. Next year it is 🤠👏🏻

  28. I came in 34 out of 154 finishing runners. 👌🏼😅🏃🏽

The fastest finisher was in on 1h52m - I was in on 2h27m. For any normal half marathon that wouldn’t be overly impressive. But for this one it was actually really good (for my fitness).

It also shows that comparing finishing times (and paces) across and races is pointless: I ran much slower than the previous races - but I gave much much more effort. Hence super proud 👌🏼😎
