Saw my first political troll account. That didn't take long.
Remember that Mastodon was built on a foundation of acceptance by a wonderful community. We (#TwitterMigrants) are joining that family and should do so with respect. Anti-social (trolling) behaviors are frowned upon. Remember that blocking and muting accounts is the recommended approach to keeping your timeline clean. And don't be afraid to report harmful content!

Elon wants Twitter to be a town square, but all I can imagine is a room full of bull horns and advertisers.
To me, #mastodon has already achieved this with decentralized instances that feel more like a hometown than a social media platform. I always felt insecure about posting on Twitter for fear of being judged, but Mastodon's message of inclusivity has broken that down.
Not being forced to pay money to verify who I am is a big plus, too.
