I never liked public transport (except rail) because I was always worried I'd end up somewhere I didn't intend to know and wouldn't know how to get back.
I love it and use it whenever I can now. Especially when visiting US and foreign cities (I live on a small island now without transit).
What changed?
Google Maps transit routing. I'm no longer worried about getting on the wrong bus, or that the bus route has changed somehow.
