I still pay my Michigan state income tax the old-fashioned way. I fill out the forms and mail them in. Today I got a letter from the state Treasury Department informing me that their review of my return has resulted in an adjustment. As I read this I thought, "Uh oh". But it turns out that they have added 5 dollars to my refund! Well okay then!

Well this is sad news to me. On June 26, CHU -- the Canadian shortwave radio time signal broadcast -- will cease operation. I discovered CHU as a kid when I first started listening to shortwave radio many, many years ago. It's always been there.
It's the end of an era.

Spectrum Internet is down. They emailed an alert saying that it's due to storms and that I should hear from them again by 9am on the 21st! Two days! I do admire the specificity of the 9am part of the message though!
My Verizon LTE backup is working but kinda slow.

My new passport has arrived. No, it does not have Trump's picture!
I renewed it online on Apr 16 and they said it should arrive around Jun 2, so I received it a month earlier than expected.
With my cancer and mobility issues, I think my days of international travel are behind me. If I didn't already have a passport I don't think I would apply for one. But since I had one, I thought it would be a shame to let it expire.

The next round of my chemotherapy pills (Lenalidomide) have arrived. I have to be alert and watch for the delivery because the pills have to be signed for. Usually they are delivered by a small FedEx vehicle, not the big boxy one. But today the guy was driving an SUV, maybe his own personal vehicle. To make conversation I said, "You fooled me. I was watching for a FedEx truck." He said, "Yeah it got smashed up."

I just went outside to shovel snow off my steps and porch because I have a grocery delivery later today. Temp was 11F and wind chill was -9. But better today than tomorrow. Tomorrow's predicted high is zero!
