Hehe this reminds me of a definition I read of a "data breach at Google": when someone gets your data from them, but they don't get paid 🤪

  7. @aburka @aburka 1) I don't think I saw any self-destructive foolish choices tho', and that's kind of implied 2) Godzilla's not infrastructure, 3) ...I was thinking car chasing car but yeah, I can accept that. 4) Nope! Yokohama Bay Bridge is Yokohama. That whole final sequence was all Yokohama, in particular, Minato Mirai.

  9. @aburka Now, to to properly put the cherry on top of the sundae, we must make it official with #cowsay:

    podman run --rm quay.io/vwbusguy/cowsay $(for i in $(seq $(($RANDOM % 10))) ; do echo -ne \\U$(printf "%x" $((1 + $RANDOM % 0x10FFFF))); done ; echo)

    Look at that glorious kerning!

GOS will be working with Motorola for some cheaper options, FWIW.

#IodéOS (which I use) supports several inexpensive phones:

    https://iode.tech/iodeos-official-supported-devices/

It's not as secure as GOS, but it has a nice built-in privacy filter (3.99EUR/mo for full feature set, basic is free), and I'm a big fan of MicroG.

  11. The Motorola phone I'm currently dictating this toot in, has cost me about 20 USD
I had to buy it as a replacement for one of my G2 GSMs, which means it's memory is extremely Limited.
However I can still do some simple things like working on the FediVerse.
In my country both GSM network providers stopped with / shut down the G2 networks with just 3 days notice, leaving us stranded with useless G2 GSM phones. I still have to replace six G2 GSM devices.

We just cannot afford phones on Android price levels when we only need to replace G2 GSM devices

  12. All of us seem to have forgotten, and I'm pointing the finger at myself, that the cloud is just somebody else's computer

It turns out that even when you buy Hardware with features companies have the balls, to take them away with impunity.

  13. You will need a Google pixel phone, for Graphene OS.

High end Android phones are out of my reach. I spend money on cycling parts

Any phone above 200 USD is out of reach of most people where the salaries are 50 USD or less.

Pixel phones are 700 USD or more

The Motorola phones which will work with Graphene OS have not even been put into production yet

The Android division of Google needs to be split up into parts like the Bell phone company for this treason
