  5. I am not comfortable with straight dudes and dudettes using "pakak" like a gangsta term. That's a gay slang first and foremost. They can't even pronounce it right—the stress is on the second syllable, not the first! >:(

    5. #KKK It was a revolutionary group that fought the Spaniards, it has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the racist American KKK. ^_~

    6. #Negro It simply means “dark”. Even native Africans (continental Africans) use the word negro, including those living here in the Philippines. We call ourselves negro too. It just means “dark”, absolutely nothing derogatory in it. We were already using the word before it was used to discriminate against people of colour.

    7. We generally put a higher weight over our identity as Filipinos over religion.

For example, in other countries, mostly Western, it's either banned or frowned upon to wear a hijab for Muslims; or for them to pray publicly wherever they were at the strike of their daily prayer hour.

Not here in the #Philippines. We Filipinos respect them and let them. We'll even protect and stand with them if some jerk starts to discriminate against them.

You'll even see Iranian women wearing their cultural, all in, dress code (apologies, I don't know what it is called) where it's all black. No one cares, life goes on.

I'm not saying there are no religion-related discrimination and/or “wars”, but usually, if you look at it deeper, it's not even about religion but more about “tribe” and territorial issues (and historical in some cases), and “Imperial Manila”.

    8. The “Filipino culture” is very diverse.

Imagine if you're from another planet and you're visiting planet Earth. You'll initially think the "Earth culture" is the same everywhere, or at least have far more commonalities than differences. Only, you later discover it isn't the case.

That's the “Filipino culture”. There is as much differences as there are similarities as you travel in different parts of the Philippines. We haven't even included the different Filipino culture that developed amongst OFWs. They have a different culture when they're in another country, and they switch back when they're here at home. ^_~

  17. Bon y’a aussi les #TagadaJones, avec un refrain dont je comprends bien toutes les paroles, mais que je soupçonne d’être un peu de gauche — à éviter lors de vos repas de famille, donc (on n’est jamais trop prudent).

  18. 🧵 Russian sources report of a UAV attack in #Taganrog. Local say there was waves of drones. All information is unverified at this time.

Reportedly a fire broke out in the PJSC #Beriev Aircraft Company.

The company employs some 3000 specialists and is developing and manufacturing amphibious aircraft.

Even though Russian report all drones successfully shot down, there are also reports of something happening at the airport and port.
