My second favorite solo Lou album. It made it all the way to number ten on the album chart. Lou said he hated it and that “the less I’m on my albums, the more they sell,” or something to that effect. It’s definitely his #sleaziest, but damn those horns and the plastic soul (beating #Bowie to it a full year before) works way better than it should. Lou had gone #peroxide city, something that he’d carry right on over to his follow up, Metal Machine Music. #LouReed
