TOTALLY REAL AND FACTUAL HISTORY FACT
Scissors were originally pronounced "Skizz-Ors". The name is derived from their function, Skizzing. Skizzing is defined my Maryanne-Websters to be the act of splitting an object with two blades.
Traditionally they were kept in a holster at a tailor's waste. The holster was made of cotton and was called the Skizz-sock. -
