Am watching episode 37 of “The White Olive Tree” 🌸 Li Zan and Song Ran are back in China, but he is physically wounded and suffering from severe PTSD. Chen Zheyuan’s acting is eminent, but it is difficult to watch.

Am watching episode 37 of “The White Olive Tree” 🌸 This drama is a tough watch but Chen Zheyuan’s acting is spectacular. They have returned from the Eastern Country and he is clearly struggling with PTSD and with his identity after having been wounded. They are navigating a world full of triggers, hoping for a semblance of normality.

Am watching episode 35 of “The White Olive Tree” 🌸 Li Zan and Song Ran are sitting outside, having an honest talk. He has chosen to stay safe while his friends head into battle. She hopes that he does not limit himself because of her. He says he has made this choice for them not just for her. Very beautiful!

Watching episode 33 of “The White Olive Tree” 🌸 These last few episodes have been very sweet. They feel hopeful but it is on the backdrop of unrest in the Eastern Country and their PTSD. Their relationship is, however, more stable now which means that they give each other more freedom to make individual choices, resulting in a happier relationship.

Am watching episode 31 of “The White Olive Tree” 🌸 After a long separation Li Zan and Song Ran finally open up to each other and reunite. This gentle togetherness is something that they both have yearned for but were afraid to burden each other.
This drama is beautiful and well acted. It is best savoured slowly, though.

Am watching episode 28 of “The White Olive Tree” 🌸 Li Zan and Song Ran are not together as a couple but together on a mission. He has just saved her from an explosion on instinct and is now glaring at her because she put herself in danger. They clearly care for each other but are not together.
This drama is beautiful, well-acted and slow - heart-wrenching, too…
