  1. Ongoing session changes have been migrated for the website and REST API. A quick smoke test looked good with backwards compatibility. I'll let the backend sit overnight to make sure there aren't any problems and then push the updated client in the morning.

  2. Ongoing sessions are merged down into dev. As per usual, I'm going to let these changes stew for a while before pushing to live.

  3. Totally scrapped the old ongoing sessions implementation that I had just brought up to snuff. I then went and reworked the existing session infrastructure to add in support for `IsOngoing`. It’s honestly the right solution but I wish I would have realized that sooner.

    I’ve been ironing out client side submission bugs and testing is looking good in dev.

    The goal of features over the next few weeks is cumulative. One feature should set the stage for the next.

  4. Hitting ongoing session over in #TempusGameIt. I've got the API up to date (this code has been dormant for years) and pushed to dev.

    Now I'm building out the client-side changes for this work. I think the biggest challenge will probably be the UI on the website and figuring out the best place for these special sessions to show.

  5. Thanks to @dawgeth I got great direction on the xbox presence data and I'm pivoting just a little bit.

    To get a soft landing spot for xbox sessions I'm going to work on building out the ongoing session infrastructure. This means that your 10hr session of Idle Champions will show up on the site even before you complete it. This will give a more up to date perspective on the state of play. And then when we add xbox sessions, they'll fit right in.

  6. Heya #TempusGameIt folks! Do you have an xbox? You can help build out xbox support on the platform by letting me harvest your presence data so I can research how to integrate it into the app.

    Doing so is easy! Head to tempusgameit.com, view your profile, hit the “Edit Profile" button, and under “Connections", click the link button on the xbox row.

    Once this is done, use your xbox as usual, and we'll be collecting data on the backend to help us link xbox titles to IGDB titles.

  7. This happened just kinda naturally, but the activity timeline on the #TempusGameIt session has actually turned into a real timeline. It supports markers now for both achievements and screenshots, so you can see when exactly you took the screenshots and earned those achievements!

  8. In the intermin, I _am_ attaching a date to screenshots, so I can add them to the activity timeline on the session. I just recently added achievement ticks on the timeline, and getting dates on screenshots will let me add screenshots as well.

    I think it'll be a pretty slick looking visualization when it all comes together.

  9. I had thought about tackling #SteamDeck support in #TempusGameIt next, but I realized that I would need to do some heavy lifting to better support being offline in the client. So I'm tabling that for the moment.

    What is next is going to be XBox support followed by GeForceNow support.

    My short term goal is to work on expanding out the platforms that we cover, and these would be two pretty cool areas to grow.

  10. The new session page is live on the website (and on your client too!).

    I think it is pretty nifty.

  11. Really starting to get some mileage out of the common UI library that I added a while ago to #TempusGameIt.

    It's pretty nice to have one set of UI components that can get re-used across both the website and client app.

  12. I haven't talked about it much because I've been busy IRL, but coming very soon is a complete rework of the #TempusGameIt client's game detail page and session detail page. Then the website's session page will get the same treatment.

    Once that’s all launched then I think I'm going to try and add SteamDeck support. I think it'll be a cool and useful piece to hit, and will help work towards GeForceNow support.

    Plus, all that time we spend on our Decks shouldn't be lost, right?!

  13. Hey all #TempusGameIt folks! Live locators are finally launched! This is big step forward in how we scan, match, and make you forget your running the app.

    For locators like Steam, GoG, and Epic, the system will now automatically detect when games are installed and add them to your catalog.

    If you haven't upgraded in a while, you're missing out on a lot of great features. Smoosh the update button in your local client's toolbar to see everything that's changed!

  14. Yes, I moderately proof my copy for #TempusGameIt announcements, but I'm not an editor. So apologies in advance if you see mistakes.

  15. The fast follow to live locators is the next version of the game information in your local catalog. I've spent a fair amount of time iterating on it, and I really like the way it turned out. It went largely unannounced, but a week or two ago I released a new look for the catalog, which is much sharper looking. This incoming change is the next logical step here in rebuilding the client UI.

  16. Daughter hair salon time. Time to finish these Live Locator release notes so I can launch it today.

  17. ActivityPub is live in #TempusGameIt. It's totally optional, but when enabled, you get your own personalized feed for your public gaming sessions.

  18. New user pace in #TempusGameIt is about one every two weeks. We're on 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥.

    It is certainly a weird feeling to have someone new signup that I have no connection with and who simply uses the app.

  19. Live Locators works well, but I have been improving detection and identification around store based locators. Taking my time and verifying across three platforms and working out the kinks has taken longer than I want. So maybe not this weekend for Live Locators. We'll see. :(

    #TempusGameIt

  20. Live locators is definitely launching this weekend. Along with it is an overhaul of title scanning too. It'll make the live locators experience much, much smoother. For titles that are connected to a steam catalog, or gog, heroic, etc, you should no longer get a “Needs Review" hit.

    This _also_ includes updating the suggested games flow as well. Adding a suggested game will no longer require a full rescan, so the process should be much, much quicker!

    #TempusGameIt

  21. ActivityPub support is coming to #TempusGameIt. Toggle it on in your profile settings and get an account that posts every time you record a session. Your account will be @<username>@ap.tempusgameit.com

    I always wanted to add twitter support but I'm a stan for the Fedi and this IMO is so much better.

    I'll write up an announcement about it, but I thought I would share with all my friends here first. I'll open up the gate for everyone over the weekend.

  22. It flew in a bit under the radar last week (primary because I needed to setup OpenGraph support), but the in-app #TempusGameIt announcements are available on the website now at tempusgameit.com/news.

    Because we're old and old school, you can also get an RSS feed here api.tempusgameit.com/api/annou

    See what's new from the comfort of your own newsreader!

  23. Just a follow-up that Live Locators will be delayed a bit. I have some other aesthetic and functional updates that I would like to get out first (probably tomorrow) and then will do some testing in dev with live locators.

  24. Today’s changes are live!

    * New titles flagging
    * Linux idling
    * Toasts!

  25. Got a few cool things dropping this weekend in the #TempusGameIt client. Some supporting work for live locators tomorrow and the live locators themselves on Sunday.

    Oh and the beta for Linux idle detection.
