  1. I don't know why I haven't used sympy before. I think I looked into it around 10 years ago, and I didn't appreciate the potential at the time. From playing around with it today, it's a capable symbolic math library. The documentation is rich as well. I really like it!

  3. Does anyone know an R package for symbolic math besides Ryacas?

Yacas fails to solve even simple equations that Maxima and Sympy solve without issues. And Yacas itself doesn't seem well maintained.

I like the Idea of Ryacas that one can convert solutions to R expressions and evaluate them.

And combining symbolic math with R code in Rmarkdown would also be great.

  5. Just updated @sagemath to 10.1 and spotted a small typo on the @gentoo ebuild, commented on the commit and the maintainer fixed it quickly :) #opensource #sagemath #SymbolicMath #CAS
