Last game of #SummerOfPlunder2026 was #OakAndIron and it was a Big One. Two big ship-of-the-line squadrons, multiple boarding actions, sinking ships, a struck magazine, a Lucky captain forcing away a roll that would have killed him at the helm. It was *very good*.

Once upon a time, I was sailing in the Chesapeake with my father-in-law (who used to teach sailing).
We had absolutely no wind that day and had to make do with every little puff that came our way. Half the time, we were trying to move just by using the tiller to paddle and rocking the boat around. He called it “very technical sailing.”
That’s what this game felt like.
