  1. I bought a second hand pixel 10 Pro with 256GB of storage. It was a very good price for a nearly perfect phone. $480 cash on Craigslist. As it may be the last of the Pixel line that will work with Graphene OS. I'm sure I'll eventually move to the Motorola Signature with GOS, but for now this is the budget long term option.

So I've been methodically setting it up as my next GOS phone. This being my third Google Pixel running GOS, I know a few more things to implement that I hadn't done with my previous phones. To bolster it's Google Play Services isolation with Private Spaces as opposed to using a second profile. As Josh from Side of Burritos goes over in the video on this subject.

I've had a pivot on perspective in setting it up, thanks to Josh, as to how to best use PS. First of all the name is misleading. It should have been named Quarantine Space, because private suggests it something to hide apps in. That's not it most useful feature at all. It is its isolation of apps and specially apps use Google Play Services or Play Integrity. Got to keep em separated :ablobcool:

I have found many of my preferred Apps that come from Google Play Store that don't use Play Integrity or Google Play Services. I use the Aurora Store for those on my Owner Profile for convenience. I also don't plan to keep the Private Spaces locked during the day as I use it most of the day. Again, no point in hiding it or using a harder or different pin/passcode, as this is only used by myself.

I've made the best use of the Graphene OS App Store as my first stop.
Second, I use ObstanX over Obstanium for it's better security and power user tools.
For those FDroid repositories only Apps, I used Droidify. Just my preference.
Finally I'll use the Aurora Store for those Play Store Apps I use that do not need Google's Play Integrity or Play Services.

On the Owner's Private Spaces; This is the place to quarantine those needed Apps that only work if download from the Google Play Store and only function with Play Services. It's pretty black and white on this. If I need a third place for isolation, it will go in another User Profile. Those also feature their own Private Space.

Google's Play Store now requires a non VOIP number to set up new. Assholes! But here we are. And this is currently my next step to mitigate. As it just isn't asking for a number, it's looking into the phone to get it! Fucking boundaries Google! So this means it must be from a sim. And this Pixel 10 Line up in the US doesn't have physical sim slots. So unless you get the fold or the European or Asian models. Or get the previous Pixels phones. Or choose to use a current Google Play profile. Youll need a sim. I'm making that consideration today.

Before this I always create a new Google account for the new device. Have separate Google Accounts for each device to have that compartmentalization, separation. It's still the best implementation.

What's you best setup and thoughts doing a Graphene OS set up? Which FOSS apps are working best for you?
