  1. What is it with Rich Sunk! and his trousers? Does he not realise that his skinny trousers exacerbate his diminutive stature?

  2. If you think that material wellbeing (i.e. perceptions of financial security) tend to have a significant impact on voting intentions, then #RishSunak may have seen a small glimmer of hope in the trend in #consumer confidence.

As #inflation has dropped so consumer confidence has risen, turning (on balance) positive for the first time in two years.

Whether this is enough to save the #Tories s another issue altogether; #voters have so many other concerns with the wreckage the Tories have wrought

  3. Here's Richard Tice of the right-wing Reform Party:

'We’ve had all the promises. All the waffle, all the warm words & they’ve completely and utterly betrayed us. The truth is that the Conservatives have broken Britain'.

The good news is that Reform is looking to attack the #Tories from the (further) right & potentially split the extreme Right vote.... the bad news is this will likely draw #RishSunak even further towards the Right extreme.

In this case our enemies' enemy is NOT our friend!

  4. Sunak at PMQs today: the cost of living crisis is "the number one challenge for countries up and down the family".

I wonder if he is rattled by the tone of the SC Rwanda judgement?

    😂

  5. The Tory proposal in the King's Speech of forcing prisoners into the dock is utterly bonkers. What are prisoners who are forced into the dock against their will going to do? They'll obviously kick off, disrupt the proceeds and then get sent back to the cells. Utterly, utterly unworkable. It's almost as if they haven't thought it through...or don't care.

  6. Safe to say Ian Dunt is not impressed with Sunak's latest 'clever wheeze' which doubtless came out of the mind of a chinless 21 year old SPAD:

"The prime minister's Network North document might genuinely be in the top ten most half-arsed embarrassing policy documents we've seen from a British government in our lifetime. That’s a highly competitive market to muscle your way into and yet somehow by God he's done it."

  7. "Doing things for the long term":
don't do today what you can put off until tomorrow.

  8. If you don't like inspectors' reports then stop doing inspections!

If you can't meet your targets then change the targets!

If you push action further into the future you can say it's because you don't want short-termism.

    Tory guide to policy making.

  9. BBC Radio 4's World at One addresses Sunak's net-zero fiasco...

'And turn now to Jacob Rees-Mogg.'

    The imbecility is staggering.

  10. Economic activity is down as #inflation drives down sales volumes, the BoE's #interestrate policy is explicitly aimed at 'damping down' the economy & real wages continue to stagnate/fall....

So you wont be surprised to know that a #recession now looks likely for the Autumn.

Cue: #JeremyHunt & #RishSunak telling us that 'if its not hurting its not working'... & the 'price is worth paying' to defeat inflation.

But, as always its not them or their mates hurting or paying the (acceptable?) price

  11. #RishiSunak Seatbelt Gaffe:
Another error of judgment by #RishSunak. If he can’t be trusted on the safety of himself and those around him, then why trust him on the safety of those he does not know - UK citizens

  12. @NEBylines #SunakSpeech was preparation for his pre-election speech that he delivered on all 5 promises. The only solid time restrained promise was to half inflation this year. But that is predicted anyway. Nothing to do with #RishSunak.
    All other promises are empty.

As to immediate problems - nothing concrete. A few bucks sprinkled here and there, but no urgency. Nothing constructive on strikes, wages, waiting times.

  13. #RishSunak was Chancellor during COVID.

He failed in his central duties.

    He failed to control spending.

He failed to ensure UK got value for taxpayers money.

He failed to set up procedures to reduce fraud and recover from fraudsters.

He cannot now be trusted with the economy.

  14. 2023 will see CONs promising a golden future for all with #RishSunak the saviour.

The vicious attacks on #KeirStarmer will start. Lies, hate, division the only way Cons know.

To know CON for what they are look at the damage they have done in 13 years.
#TimeForChange back to decency, integrity and competence.
